Jealous?

I was one of 100,00 fans crammed into the old Wembley Stadium to see U2 during their Joshua Tree tour. It was phenomenal and included support from The Pogues and Lou Reed.

Stone Temple Pilots at Glasgow Barrowlands was a cracker too.
If they were playing in my garden I wouldn't open the curtains.
So if Oasis were playing in your garden you would just close your curtains rather than chasing them off your lawn. Really? You wouldn't even tell them to keep the noise down?

Kasabian are probably the most well known 'big band / small venue' combo I've managed to catch when they played Bar 36. Found £20 on the floor in Jamesons so paid me and my mates in with it. Don't remember much about the gig though due to the amount I'd had to drink.

Went to see Social Distorion and Flogging Molly when we were in New York in the summer. Wasn't a massive fan of either but the venue, a rooftop of a building overlooked by the Brooklyn Bridge, looked mint. The weather was class, the bands were great, talked to some canny people. Cracking day. Still not that fussed on Social Distortion but Flogging Molly were class.

Cheap Trick at The Cavern Club in Liverpool in 2018. A special one off show that was rammed to the rafters, sweaty and exciting.
KISS at Islington Academy in 2010. 500 people in the hall. The smallest show they`d done since 1974 as a warm up for their European Tour
Solomon Burke at The Sage a few years ago. The absolute epitome of Soul, Blues and Gospel in one man. Pure old school entertainment and a voice that brought tears to your eyes and just a few weeks before he passed away.

I was complete gig virgin who'd recently got into soul to meet girls (btw didn't work) and was really looking forward to Stevie Wonder and Junior Walker. Hadn't heard of Fleetwood Mac, but even their name sounded unappealing. Folk songs about trawlers and oil skins?

Four scruffy blokes, who I first took to be roadies, walked on stage and without any chat or announcement started to play Dust My Broom - very loud.

It was an epiphany on the same scale as a first match under floodlights - but with slide guitar.

    Now there`s the quote of the day

Is the rink small? Very jealous
If big, still jealous.

I was going to see them at Charlton ( not sure if The Valley or a park???), but my O levels were only a few days away so decided revision of which I had done none was the more productive option.

Rink was short for Top Rank had some good bands in the day seen Free a few times as well
