Argentina and The Falklands

I have worked in Argentina and found the country and the people to be very pleasant. Their government may stoke nationalism to divert attention from the parlous state of their economy, but they are hardly alone in that.
Good post marra.
My father (rip) was a Royal Marine who travelled all over and said the Argies were the nicest most hospitable people he ever met.I agree that just maybe they are trying to take the focus away from internal problems.

We'd been in for years

No public support for us back then

Nowt will have changed
I’m 60 man. I’m aware of when we joined. What does 6v3 mean to you?

We were always the most out of the in. £v€ being the most visible reminder. No EU/EEC/EC member in their right mind would’ve gone out of their way for us back then. Recent events have proved them right.

The argentinians always tended to be friendly when they met a marine. They would usually hand over any weaponry they held as a sign of friendship whilst giving the traditional argentinian greeting of placing both hands up in the air.
The tears in their eyes were tears of friendship and love.

Lovely people

That one is baffling. Boris is said to be very intelligent, so why come out with something so f***ing stupid? Is he actually just f***ing dense or is there a long game here?
That post has all the hallmarks of a genius opinion

I bet you've never done a days service in your life.

Go on then bet....
A penny a day for every days service I did to fifty quid if I'm lying.
Procedes to ssafa
I'll just take your word for it. 😉 Your take on Marines killing Argentine conscripts seems to lack experience and maturity mind. As we both know many of these poor blokes ( many elite troops like Royal Marines) returning to the UK after serving their country took their own lives such is the horror of war but you glorify it.........most conflict served ex servicemen would scratch their heads at that.

When the fck did I mention marines killing anyone?

Re-read my posts ffs

It was a light hearted post and didn't mention any killing at all

To be fair ..my Old mans references were prior to the Falklands war when he spent a fair bit of time in South America region .Out of all the people he liked them the most ..I appreciate things may have drastically changed and that friendliness gone .

 In your simple mind. Go and give a cuddle to the other fruit

not a single person bar yourself has brought corbyn into it. Quite an obsession you have. Calm down dear
Without getting into the argument, I think he is referring to the fact that Corby n is supportive, for the want of a better word, if giving The Falklands to the Argies, apparently.

What corbyn thinks or doesn’t is irrelavent. Is the argument that only the right wing speaks on Britain’s behalf?

being a labour voter is unpatriotic? This is the implication from that post.

Right wing patriots use the feeling that they are the only defenders of the country. Yet, they quite happily vote in a government that has sold every major uk industry to overseas and hedge funds

not one of them can contradict that basic problem, with their argument

corbyn advocated taking utilities back into the uks own hands. Sort of what they claim to want but vote against it

As I said, I wasn't joining the argument, just trying to clarify his point about Corbyns stance.

it’s Argentina’s, we’ve no right staking claim to it. Only my opinion. Sure plenty will disagree which is totally fine.
