RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

I was crossing the wearmouth bridge once after finishing work. Was about 1.30am, was working at the students uni bar on the north side. Walking back with my mate and we saw a guy who was on the wrong side of the railing looking into the river. Stopped to ask him what was up. No one about at all and it was dead quiet, was like a thursday night or something. He telt us his name was Will, he was 19 and he basically was going to kill himself. Made his mind up, this was it. So we stayed and chatted to him for about half an hour, he was clearly intoxicated and had been crying his eyes out saying he was depressed and all the rest of it. Anyway we boiled him down to what had actually happened and basically he'd just split up with his girlfriend. We were saying don't worry, you get other girlfriends etc. and this went on for like another 15 minutes but he wasn't having any of it and by this point my mate had give him his coat.

Anyway I nodded to my mate and when he looked at him and I grabbed my arms under his shoulders and dragged him over the top. As I pulled him over the railing my mate went to help and we lost our balance and both fell flat on the deck. The lad then proceeded to give me a punch in the face before running off

Never helped anyone since

I broke down in boldon, no petrol

Some bloke spotted me walking along with my Jerry can. This was rush hour and he was in a work van with his apprentice so they’d obviously been at work all day

They picked me up, took me to petrol station, waited then took me back to car. Even waited til the car had started

Total opposite direction to where they were going and took about 40 minutes due to it being rush hour

I used to work in Gateshead which has a large orthodox Jewish presence. I once saw a Jewish lad (with ginger hair, looked quite quirky) have his skull cap pulled off by 2 other lads who were kicking it about. I ran over, snatched the cap, told the teens to 'fuck off' and handed it back to the other lad. People were just walking by and ignoring it. I wouldn't care, but all three of them were taller than me!

Afterwards did you have a cup of tea together?
Did you ask him how he makes his?
Did he tell you....... Hebrews it?

I'll get me coat.

There's loads but the one that stands out is the day an older fella was getting abused for no reason by a car driving past, the car came back umpteen times and as I got closer (I was a good few yards behind the bloke) I just lost it and grabbed the fella through the side window :) Got dragged along for a bit, got up and just walked with the bloke as if nothing had happened. Was very odd, would like to say it was a good deed in whole but partly selfish as it's massively annoying when a car darts about and keeps pulling up to chat shit. The car never came back.

Child 1 was running amok and I couldn't get the baby carrier fastened with child 2 strapped to chest. A lovely lady snapped the thing closed behind my back. That was nice.

We were on the tube heading back from Wembley after the Checkatrade final, everyone feeling flat as a fart, this bloke leans over and gives the bairn (who was 5 then) a scarf he'd bought before the game. Said he didn't want to see it

Cheered the bairn right up. When he wears it for the match now he talks about the time the fella gave it to him. Nice to think that bloke gave him a good memory of the day when we were all sick as fuck.
