McGeady

Players having a go at each other on the pitch is all part and parcel of the game.

Jesus wept Keane would be at the united players all game long.

Look he may well be a nasty piece of work but no fucker on here has a clue of it’s the case or not.
It is, but he at it with Hume constantly, even when it was him who was at fault. Might not have been an awful lot in it, but it's just an observation. And Hume certainly seems to be performing a lot better without McGeady there.

He will sign for Coventry and score the winner against us in the Play-off final, 5 minutes into stoppage time.

Bookmark this.
A scenario like this would not surprise me- He may have been behaving like a complete whopper behind the scenes but he is arguably as good a player this league has seen....
Current formation is built on sand though, with the lack of depth in the squad. What happens if Gooch or Maguire gets injured?

In the perfect world I would prefer if McGeady and whoever puts their differences aside.
I agree- McGeady in our team with a line drawn under the issues would make our team stronger. They are men not Children and should be able to work through their differences

He’s a skilful player and can win you a game with a moment of class but he doesn’t track back at speed, leaves his fullback exposed and slows the play down when he gets the ball in advanced areas. He will still do a job for some team but even without his misdemeanours he doesn’t really fit the style of play we have at the moment.

He CAN win you a game, but he can also contribute to losing you one. It's all about whether a manager can "construct" a team that is willing to work & cover in exchange for whatever he MIGHT do to win a game.
I'd suggest his style does not fit into the current way

Correct.

We're performing well enough without him. Good riddance I say.

We look a better TEAM without him. obvious talent but something not right, last couple of games Maguire's looked a different prospect as well. regardless of the result (prefer winning obviously) we look to be making a lot more effort, long may it continue.

Is there any interest at all in the lad. Seems to be nothing in the press
thought someone in the championship might have taken a punt even on loan

If we can get a big chunk of his and Griggs wages off the books would give us a lot more room to manoeuvre to bring people in

I think that's a myth. I'm unsure how he can slow us down considering he's not a slow player and was very direct at times.

This. Posters are now trying to defend the decision by ssying he slowed things down all of a sudden. I actually welcomed Mcgeady's efforts as at the time few other players were shooting when given the chance.

Because when he gets the ball, the first thing he does is to check back inside and take time to assess what he can do (mainly "Can I get a shot for myself here?"), often when the passer has moved on an overlap for the 1-2. That slows everything down and lets the opposition get organised. It's obvious from the last few games that Parkinson wants is to play with one or two touches and keep the ball moving. McGeady can't or won't do that.

Absolutely spot on. That's why he has never made it in the Premier League. He was a disaster at Everton

We’ll end up paying him off a bit like Cattermole/Oviedo! He’s got a contract for 18 months here so no chance he’ll go easily especially after being made to train away from the first team, he’ll dig his heels in further and want his money!

I’d wager any money that nobody at the time mentioned it on here which would indicate it couldn’t have been that bad.
