Plane Etiquette

I didn't mean literally squash them, just restrict the space they had. I can imagine that being really uncomortable for the mother with a baby on her knee.

We could think up all kinds of ideas about the life of the person reclining the seat, but then likewise we should for the person sat behind too and give them some consideration.

And I understand that it is a trivial issue compared to big world problems, but surely we are still able to discuss such things?
Course we can discuss it, I was just having an arsey moment, soz!
For me, I don’t see an issue with the seat being reclined, life and let live and all that. If they’re on the same flight back have a conversation about how their trip was, make light of it all and enjoy

Good idea actually, I will keep that in mind for the way home 😊
why didn't your gore them with your horns obviously if you're not a real reindeer then i'm being silly
Of course I am a real reindeer!

(I'm being silly now)
What is a part time traveller? Do they get out half way?
😂

I usually wait for the food or drink to come, ask them to put their seat upright and then keep something on my tray. If they start reclining again I tell them that I'm still eating or drinking.

Did our first long haul flight for 13 years on Wednesday. Was dreading it but it was actually ok and thankfully our kids behaved.

However I found it incredibly annoying and rude that the man in front reclined his chair for about 10 hours 45 mins of the 11 hour journey. Thus leaving me feeling claustraphobic and rather pee'd off. His partner did the same also in the seat next to him. And they were necking on too!! 🤬 Ergh!

Spoke to an air hostess and she said there was nothing we could do. I ended up swopping seats with kids but still not great.

Have you encountered passengers who have done the same, or other annoying acts on a plane, and did you do anything about it?

They had better not be sitting in front of us on the way home!!!
Yes I encountered a very annoying passenger on our return from Mexico, we’d paid for premium seats and when my daughter tried to recline her seats to get to sleep the bloke behind her held her seat in place so she couldn’t move back. After standing up and a few evil looks in his direction he got the msg.

Holding on to a seat....what a weird thing to do, never heard of that before. Glad to hear the evils did the trick! 👍

Long haul - go to kip
Short haul - get pissed

Never had any bother

Seriously never understood this mentality although I suspect it’s said more for effect than what you actually do.

It’s cabin crew responsibility to make sure you don’t have too much to drink. People forget that selling duty free and serving food is completely secondary to their main role on board which is safety of the aircraft and passengers.

I once paid for my brother to travel to Cyprus with me and he pulled out the night before travelling. His seat was the other side of the aisle and a woman sat with her feet up all the way on it. A bitter pill to swallow watching her stretch and point her toes every now and again.
