Johnson Exit Date as Tory Leader

Firstly most of the NE is still red, for those that turned he's promised something to them, now he needs to deliver something. A deal can get rubber stamped, but it needs to turn out to be tangibly better (or at least not tangibly worse) than what came before.

It needs to be shown to be more than snakeoil long term.
You want to hope he doesnt deliver, because if he does "the minority of the NE will be red" after the next one, especially if Momentum are still calling the shots and the people are presented with another "everything for free manifesto" (that they know they will pay for). Far from being thick the electorate are a bit too savvy for labour ATM. Do your worst - as I'm sure momentum will do. 👍

If he delivers something that is better for me, mine, and the region why would I be arsed? I would love to be wrong.

You would be f***ing devastated if the a proper lefty came in and made the country better.

Can't see him being outed by the party given his majority.

Gaffes don't seem to negatively affect him, he doesn't give a fuck. I reckon he could get filmed sniffing coke off a prossies arse crack next week and still be PM in 2024.
Surely everyone would vote him in in that event. Man of the of the people doing what we'd do in his place

I’d say he’s got it pretty good for a few years yet especially if he does chuck some money at the regions for decent infrastructure and the like.
I doubt there’s been a time in any of our lives when the tories have had such a decent opportunity to entrench themselves for a generation in labour heartlands....whether they fuck it up is another matter mind but the opportunity is there

Would love to disagree but this.

It will forever be a mystery how they managed to dodge the wrath for austerity but they somehow flunked into it

If people see the alternatives as a worse option they can get away with a lot.
Hopefully they’ll step up to the mark now tied in with labour getting themselves into some sort of coherent shape so at least we have sound debates about the issues.

Personally I see the next decade or two as being one of the most important ever regarding the in balance in the country and all the things surrounding climate change and how we make power going forward.

If it’s fucked up we all suffer so I’d quite like to see some consensus and cross party thinking on the massive issues we face so it continues parliament to parliament

That really depends on whether he delivers a Brexit that improves people's lives.

No matter who ends up PM the majority of the electorate didn't vote for their party so I'm in good company.

"Get Brexit done" was 2019, now he needs to get it right or not get blamed.

yes, the last 9 years of Tory gov have reversed the real income of most northern constituencies, and it’s highly likely BJ won’t come up with a post EU deal that benefits the majority of country. Hope the chancer bombs are the next election

You'd probably join the party if he kicked an Imam in the bollocks on telly though.

Actually, if he kicked anyone in the bollocks on telly I'd laugh my tits off regardless of their race, religion, or politicalranings.
 If he did it in anger it'd be great.

You think letterboxes is racist do ya? I'll show you f***ing racist! There! What do you think of them apples!!!?

Imam crouched over in the corner....
