I reckon she thought being a Royal would massively lift her profile (she’s a self centred actress when all’s said and done) but didn’t understand the obligations to serve and what the public expected.

Disappearing to Canada sounds like she wants to keep the profile but not have the obligations and responsibilities.
The race thing annoys me, most of the press have been very supportive of her. The usual dickheads in the press who write rubbish need to be ignored

but would you run before the big wedding or after? Both of them were fully aware of what they were getting into. Both have millions of pounds to their name. If they don’t want to do Royal work then they shouldn’t expect Royal pay. And as for wanting to keep up with the lifestyle of George Clooney perhaps both of them should get jobs the same as he did and earn it themselves. They both have far more money than the majority of the planet and they should stop being so greedy.

I agree but let's face it 'royal work' means doing f all for millions anyway.

They're at risk, simple as.

If you or I find ourselves at risk of being targeted by lunatics or idealogues we'd get protection, and would understandably be fuming if the police said "get your hand in your pocket" when we give a chunk of our salary every month to pay for them. That's not the way the system works
 
He is about 7th in line, so will never be king, I don’t think that the state should be involved in any way with anybody more tha second in line. The rest should be individual citizens like you and me, get jobs buy a house and live a normal life.
