if the helmet has taken any impact, think the recommendation is you get a new one before riding again.edit - if helmet took a strong impact does it need replacing
hope the road rash isnt too bad today... how's the bike?

It’s compulsory in Western Australia where I live. I couldn’t imagine not wearing a helmet. It should never be compulsory. It allows nature to filter out the morons.

to be fair even when i was lying down the first thing i did was look over at my bike for damage then stop my garminthe important question as always
cheers mate
had quick look last night in garage, i think/hope it is ok , the gear i had on is all shredded and helmet will be no good now .
walking around at work like john wayne today with a very sore hip and cuts all over arms/hands and all down right leg.
will need to go down cycle world for new helmet in couple weeks so may take bike down at same time to ask if they can give it a basic maintenance/check over ? lots of scratched on the frame now but couldn't see any cracks, not clued up on the bike mechanics at all so wasn't 100%
just hope it hasn't put me off, will be a bit wary at first when I do go out again . just when i was starting to put a bit training together again , still fuming that the dick just drove on

That was me when I had a bit of a fall last year. At the time I just got back on and finished the ride (until my derailleur went through the spokes 35km later). Afterwards and once I’d got the bike repaired I felt very wary about getting back on and when I did I avoided anywhere where there might have been fast moving traffic that couldn’t give me a wide berth.cheers mate

I was really concussed. Got back on and cycled another 10km til someone stopped me and said half your top is ripped off and you're bleeding a lotThat was me when I had a bit of a fall last year. i put the chain back on and slowly cycled home as knew the missus was out with her running club , got some strange sights as had blood seeping through my top from both arms and everything was ripped , looked like a dog had mauled meI was really concussed. Yeah, know what you mean. It wasn’t until I was on the train with a knacked bike that I saw that the right leg was a bit wet and my bib and socks were letting some air in.I was really concussed. when out round the pool you prob just looked like you were into S&M matemy time where car took me out at decent speed ( luckily the car hit the bike rather than me) left me with some horrible road rash.....two days before my first ever trip to Mallorca.
Got loads of knowing nods from other cyclists....

You're bound to feel a bit wary at first but confidence always comes back eventually - just keep riding & don't worry.just hope it hasn't put me off, will be a bit wary at first when I do go out again . just when i was starting to put a bit training together again , still fuming that the dick just drove on
Question for @Hitchin Exile ...or anyone else who's been cycling Althea way
Thinking of doing Althea one time as the wife fancies going there ( possibly next Feb half term)
Know where we want to stay (very cycle friendly hotel) but wondering what's the weather like in mid Feb ?
Always do Mallorca at Easter (and still plan to next year) and the weather is nice then, just wondering whether Feb would be nice enough ?
Know that Hitchin/Roger is out there now....but want it nice enough for shorts/short sleeve jersey. Not going abroad to be chilly/cold
Cheers
