Benidorm

tried the search function but just 300 threads of “match on in Benidorm?”

Never been and I ’m off on a stag there next week and I’ve done zero organising

We are all inclusive and suspect will do the usual beers by the pool and strip at night

Any advice on decent restaurants for a long lunch?

Any other tips gratefully received

Go to the old town and wander down 'Tapas Alley'. Thank me later.

It's not, like. OK if you want generic English food but there's far better for that.

It's whatever you want it to be. There are daytime karaoke bars with people singing sweet Caroline if that's what you want but there's so much more here. There are some fantastic bars and areas that are nowt like that.

Only if that's the sort of places you go, but there's far more to Beni than just that.

I live over here. If you want a great value, top quality lunch, try Toscana Italian on "walking street ". It's basically all the way at the end of the main street, (Calle Girona),the street Morgan's Tavern and everything are on. You come to a pedestrianised area and it's on the left. Tables outside, perfect for lunch in the sun and a three course menu for €10.50 including a beer or wine. It opens at 1pm. The mushroom and ham crepe starter is unbelievable and any pizza of your choice. India Gate, directly opposite is cracking as well but doesn't open until 6pm.

If you all want to watch the match message me and I'll sort something out for you.

Went to both Toscana and Indian Gate when I was there over Christmas, both lovely, great food....got luck with Toscana as it closed for the New Year....
1. It doesn't.
2. You're not used to fresh produce.

It was the smoke that I hated....people sitting having bait and smoking cigarettes, absolutely manky, smelled like the Grainger Market....

It stinks, I hated the place....

I'm not a fan of most seafood so I tend not to eat down there cos it smells like a fish Quay.

I guess people who do like it, don't mind it.

I think I spoiled my kids and myself really by going there last year. I should have started out basic with them being young and worked up to something like this place. It's absolutey class. I've asked my travel agent to come up with alternatives but nothing seems to come close - for similar money anyway. It's perfect for kids. Has good pools on the complex itself which the kids loved. But right next door to it is the Terra Natura zoo and waterpark. You can walk through the zoo to get to the waterpark. Plenty of hotel deals have 'waterpark' included but when you check the waterpark is 3-4 miles away so you have to get a bus there. This is on site. Food was really good and my fussy eldest eat loads. Night time entertainment was mostly decent (flamenco dancing aside). And the alcohol is decent premium brands. I was mostly drinking Estrella, Dissarano or (I think) Johnnie Walker whiskey. I've been AI before where you've never heard of the spirit brands and the beer was piss.
How easy is it to get into the town or the beach from the hotel? Were looking for 2021, will have a 16 year old, 4 yo and 1 yo. Went to flamingo oasis last year which they loved and for the money was spot on. Unfortunately we're stuck to factory fortnight so can't get away from ridiculous prices 😩

They look lovely but because theres such a big age gap need plenty of entertainment for all the family, and prefer AI because it's just easier when they're little , toddler ate her bodyweight in chicken nuggets, chips and ice lollies last year

Love Zodiac, Cadillac and the ones opposite.

Great atmosphere on an evening. OK, so not the best tapas in the world but for the price, (€7 for 6 tapas and a bottle of wine), you sang really complain, can you.

Fantastic value.

Look at the Magic Robin Hood resort, too. Its a couple of miles out but has a regular courtesy bus into town. Has its own water park and everything you'd need on site.

They put a bus on in to town and obviously picks up too. Though we just got a taxi back and that wasn't much. Bus was maybe 20 mins by the time it dropped off at the beach.
