Tyne Tunnel

How is it a clart on if you have a disability

Yes
Thinking of extreme cases, these ten minutes to get in the car type people ,who have adapted steering wheels etc with limited mobility and adapted cars .They maybe thought ok that's a small amount of blue badge holders but what do they do at the gate ? then decided the only option is all blue badges

They can stick a arm out the window surely, unless your disability is no arms im pretty sure they could manage

Able bodied people cant even get close enough to reach the trough man ,then they cant count.I'm sorting my change ready for a grand prix exit in the dark in the tunnel or getting my passenger to .A lot harder if you have restrictive movement of any kind .

Pathetic that it doesn't do contactless yet. Or give f***ing change for that matter.
Pathetic that people can't keep their account topped up or have change
Sitting there waving their card while queue builds up behind them.
I've written to TT on numerous occaisions telling them to surcharge people who have to call the blokey out
Who do they think they are
Pa-Thet-Ic

I for one think that wheelchair user spaces should be furthest away from the entrance.

when I park to go shopping I have to walk around the shop, these people have the comfort of a seat all the way around.

Actually sounds a right fuck on to get exemption, so if I was a blue badge holder who didn’t use it regularly, not sure I could be bothered with applying.
Blue Badge holders are exempt from the Tyne Tunnels toll charges but to receive this concession you need to fill in an application form and send them a copy of your Blue Badge and you'll receive a TT2 Disability Exemption Permit.

Disabled people who do not have a Blue Badge Permit but have Disabled Tax Exempt vehicle are also eligible for an exempt crossing. A copy of the vehicle’s V5C and a copy of your DWP letter confirming entitlement of higher rate mobility allowance must be sent to receive a TT2 Disability Exemption Permit. The permit is only valid for one year and must be presented when crossing.

How, if someone has 3k+ in earnings pm, and someone is on the dole or a oap on a hell of a lot less has to pay?
That person on the dole is getting free money for doing nothing ,take that off them while we're at it .

can you not claim on brain function ?

Love zipping through for free on my R1.

Was aye. A right fuck on taking your glove off to find 20p in your pocket, glove back on after the money was tossed in the machine. Held cars up no end.

A common sense move by tt2 and the cost was passed on to car and hgv drivers anyway, so tt2 lost nothing.

Suck it up, buttercup.

Hehe, you tinker. Here fishy, fishy.

I don’t begrudge blue badge holders fuck all. I’d rather continue to be fit and pay for parking and tolls than have a qualifying disability and get it for nowt. I seriously have no idea why anyone would moan about it. It’s nice to give them a little perk for being dealt a shit hand in life.

or just press the button and say 'disabled badge holder mate' when they answer the buzzer after ten mins f***ing on
Anyhoo, Blue Badge Holders don't pay as they are classed as Road Tax exempt. They don't pay road tax so dont pay for the tunnel

I don’t think blue badge holders should get it for free. A sliding scale based on how polluting your vehicle is would be a much better way of doing it, though ideally it should be free for all users - all toll roads should be.
I can't understand how a many, completely necessary, route isn't provided centrally. How on earth do they get away with making this stuff a commercial service?

I guess they say to councils that they’ll absorb all the costs as long as they keep the profits, which it will eventually turn a profit.

£65 a month. That’s more than my insurance and VED put together. It’s more than some people spend a month on petrol.
