Ademola Lookman

Hes bundesliga level

Allardyce wouldnt sell him, was desperate for him to stay

He played 30mins over 2 sub appearances for Allardyce. He was also sent with the clown team to a dead-rubber Europa tie in Cyprus under Sammy Lee (Lookman scored twice) while FSA and the proper team stayed home working on shape.

He knew Lookman was popular with Evertonians at the time and he wasn't so said some nice things but his actions spoke differently. He tried to loan him to the Championship then bought a £20m 'experienced' winger.

The counter is that you’ve sold a young player with huge potential and signed a 29 year old who is solid and not much more

Problem is mate he aint getting 1st team football and he had a good loan move at Leipzig so naturally wanted to stay there permanently.

Financially it makes perfect sense to sell now whilst his stock is relatively high as he aint getting much game time ahead of Richarlison, Bernard, Walcott and potentially a Malcom/Pepe.

I think delph is a good buy btw

How did Walcott get on last season? I can't remember hearing much, but i have distanced myself from MOTD tbh

Very hit and miss tbh, im not his biggest fan but Silva seems to like him. He'll certainly be a squad player next season as Richarlison & Bernard finished the season ahead of him and we're supposedly after another winger.
I see Crystal Palace have bid £8M for McCarthy? A good deal for all parties?

Didn’t really get the opportunities due to ill-times injuries and not showing enough in training to convince Silva that he should play. The few times he did play, you can see he’s a good footballer but just didn’t really spark.

£10m profit on him would be decent. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him become very successful but it’s obviously not going to happen at Everton.

It's frustrating that things haven't worked out for him but I think it comes down to 2 things, 1 being that he has been a bit unlucky with a couple of the managers that he's had whilst here, and secondly his own desire and attitude to prove himself.

You can see he has a lot of talent. He has the ability to run at players with pace and get defenders on the back foot. I've seen quite a lot of defenders struggle to cope with him when he does that. I agree with the poster that said he needs a run of about 10 games to actually show his potential, and he didn't get that here unfortunately. When he did in Germany, he got 5 goals in 11 games so it shows that with a bit of a run he can be of value to the team.

Having said that, a lot of Evertonians (including myself) question his attitude and that is based on 4 managers all deciding to leave him on the bench for long periods, and how he conducts himself on the pitch at times. Walcott was very poor last season yet still managed 5 goals, and is a true professional, and I think Lookman should have tried to learn from him because despite poor performances from Walcott last season, he's achieved a fair bit in the game. Bernard only got about 1 league goal last season but the manager favoured him over Lookman and again I think it's down to Bernard's willingness to work harder for the team. You only have to compare the contribution of Richarlison and Lookman (both a similar age) since they've been at the club to see the gulf in their value to us. Lookman's value is all based on what he might do, whereas Richarlison has gone out there and proved himself week in week out.

He could be the best player in the world but as soon as he signs for us he will instantly become shite. That's not me having a dig about how your opinions will all change, more the fact our awful team/management/facilities etc will ruin his career.

Obviously I hope he signs and is excellent but If I was him I'd be looking elsewhere.
