Love making me own mind. Best - and most ponciest - was git thick gammon ham, sautéed mushrooms in parsley and balsamic onions with buffalo mozzarella. Lashings of yem made tomato sauce to serve. Lusharoon.
Quite partial to a Stromboli anarl mind.

It's just calzone not calzone pizza.

Probably worth the clarification as calzone also means "trouser leg". You could be very disappointed if you visited a combined tailor/pizzeria outlet.

(I actually thought it meant "large boot" but on googling it, I realised I was wrong)
Edit: the origin seems to be that it resembles a large stuffed sock.

The Italian restaurant at NCL Airport Hilton do the best Calzone i have ever had. It has rosemary chicken, ham and roast veg in, god mozzarella, and a pot of marinara sauce to pour over / dip in, for about £12

I like the toppings on my pizza to go go crispy, so it’s a no from me.

Tried a ham and Mozzarella one in Rome and it reminded be of a findus crispy pancake.
