The only reason it’s been done as it has is to ensure they get it for the price they wanted to pay for it.

As @Grumpy Old Man says, they effectively own the club as it stands as Donald can’t sell to anyone without their agreement and they aren’t going to agree to that when they want it themselves.

I’m not really understanding this, are you suggesting the Americans did want to buy the club and it was only Donald who stopped that happening?

Exactly this. The loan is effectively a noose around Donald’s neck and he’s about to gang himself. He shouldn’t have been so greedy

the pessimistic side of me doesn’t entirely believe the “facts” regarding that deal that float around here with such authority, but at the same time, seeing Stewie squirm is a dream come true!

Believe me I completely agree that Parkinson absolutely must go now.

And I completely agree that SD should just sell up this summer.

But I'm genuinely worried that if SD bails out right now we could be in very big trouble.

I'm suggesting that Donald wanted more than they wanted to pay after completing due diligence, and loaned the money to Madrox to a) keep their feet under the table and b) tie Donald's hands by making it impossible to sell to anyone else. They've kept all of their options open while closing off all Donald's. These are hard-nosed buggers who won't pay a penny more than they think the club is worth.

he can’t bail out without the Americans agreeing, and if they want the club it puts them in a hell of a good position
