Hearing McGeadys left/walked away from the club

That'd be fine if he was looking for 16, 17m when selling but I dont think he is, is he?

Probably not, but he's effectively giving it away for just short of 10m isn't he? That 9m to 10m investment could make him a fortune if he pulls it off or he could lose the lot if he doesn't.

He's rushed in and overpaid, that much is clear. They've made some poor choices but wasting millions (apart from Grigg and some wages, employing people etc) in terms of parachutes payments etc isn't really the case, because they haven't been able to utilise much of it and that might just be half of the problem.

How the fuck would you know if he's fallen out with every manager man? 😂😂
Fell out with Strachan at Celtic.
Fell out with the Head Coach at Spartak Moscow.
Fell out with Trapattoni when he was at RoI
Fell out with Coleman.
All well documented.

I heard first hand from the physio at the FAI he has an attitude. If he likes the coach he plays well for him. If not he doesn't then he doesn't bother. That's why Sheff Wed sent him back to Everton even though they were in the playoffs.

They are talking about it now in total sport; barnsey says he doesn’t know one way or another.

says club have been asked, but they won’t answer and we need to wait to hear from PP.

I dont think so perry, that talk of defaulting sounds like nonsense to me especially as he said sartori could pay it back no problem.

When you say overpaid do you think that's the case for 15m, seems like an ok deal to me.

Listened to the Lawrence under the cosh podcast today and they sneaked out under the radar to a back room in a popular club in Dublin I think when under lock and key to stay in.

The joke was that they didn't think staying under the radar was going very well as mcgeady had a massive crowd around him doing the work on the dancefloor.

I dont care if they want to be piss heads and have a good dressing room if that is the plan. Giving mcgeady 2 years at his age at about 4 times the going rate of a good league one player and then bringing a coach in that doesnt suit is ridiculous though.

Zero thought has gone into this and its embarrassing to watch materialise.

There's been a lot of talk of Sartori, but he's been around for a few months a season back, chucked in 2m or so and never been seen since. I know he's had other stuff going on but would he really bale Donald out if needed when his investment is so small at the moment?

I know their investment initially was £15m, but it's not just 15m though when you're given further handicaps. There's other things to consider - the court cases which were coming up and had to shell out for, legacy transfers which had to be covered so they had to sell nearly anybody they could get fees for and a wage bill which meant they had to cull some players and try and get as many out as possible, where players like Oviedo and Catts and others were on wages which were simply unsustainable, which then leaves less flexibility on the wages bill for incoming players which was desperately needed.

That added to the £25m from last seasons parachute payments which were tied up, which most relegated clubs would need to utilise when having wages they couldn't sustain on the books and token efforts the previous season from Bain to reduce things and get it into line meant that they were starting from a pretty poor position if they can't chuck money in.

On the face of it it looks like they've got the club for buttons, but given the parachute payments were already tied up they didn't even get the pittance of TV money available at this level. Sure gate receipts are large in comporison to other clubs, but then so were wages and that's probably whey they've been so fierce with some of the cuts and that's why I don't buy this talk of Sartori chucking money in - clearly it's been needed for a while, so why take the risk with the American guys if that was ever available?

Barnes has just been on Totalsport saying the club wouldn't comment on McGeady. Surely they'd say he was still here, if he was?

It sounded to me that he couldn't actually get to speak to anyone today - given its a playing staff day off and the number of people who have left recently I'm not surprised he couldn't find anyone to comment.

He just halfed his salary over a two year deal rather than the one he had left didn't he? Didn't cost us anymore than his one year deal would have, or that was what we were told. Again clearly aimed at cash flow.

I'd question the Cattermole contract situation more given how hush hush they were about it.

If it’s not confirmed. By say 8pm ish tomorrow night I’ll be with a few who will know !

I had no issue with McGeady whatsoever last year - i praised him for staying - then i saw his lack of motivation, effort and fitness this season. You cant have expensive senior players like that. They have to lead the rest. It rubs off.
