McGeady & Maguire sitting in Macdonald's

Somebody better hurry up tell the nearly-35 year old, ripped as fuck Ronaldo that he's a disgrace to his profession, before he ends up wasting his promising career. Sometimes he eats pizza, and some bloke on the internet in Sunderland thinks this makes him not 'a serious athlete'. Ronaldo discusses his strict diet regime but still can't live without pizza

In all seriousness, it isn't remotely a problem unless happening regularly. It also wasn't a problem when Maguire scored a hattrick earlier in the season, or last year when McGeady ripped up the league. The fact they're playing shit (along with almost everybody else)is the problem.
Total and utter bollocks.

Ronaldo’s physique and effort v. Two fat lazy bastards

Good post

Why on earth is Grigg travelling back on his own.

That in itself shows a total lack of leadership. No wonder the squad is so disjointed and supposedly split into little groups.

They’re all travelling back separately because we can’t afford 2 full tanks of fuel on the team bus

I once saw an interview with Didier Drogba who confessed that he ate McDonald’s nearly every day.
He was ripped to fuck though, these two ain’t. Some people have bodies that get away with eating anything they like, my uncle is a skinny fucker yet pouches just as much if not more than me yet I’m close to double his weight. These two have looked both out of form and out of shape and seem to be trouble in other ways I’d get rid tomorrow if someone would take them.

This^ this sort of bollocks comes out everytime we are playing shit, so what if they are eating a burger

Because they're both blatantly miles away from peak physical condition? Cos they both blatantly can't last ninety minutes? Their refuelling habits clearly have something to do with this.

I'm absolutely amazed that no one has a problem with this like.
They aren’t over weight or unfit , they are just playing shit, doesn’t mean they can’t eat

Maguire isn't overweight...

Absolutely pointless discussing this with you if that's your opinion. He's in atrocious shape for a professional athlete. An embarrassment.
Embarrassing anyone would even post this. They can eat what they like after a match they've probably burned close to 800 calories

Maguire came on in the 92nd minute and McGeady didn't even come on. So that's nonsense for a start.

At one time the team bus would always stop at a fish and chip shop or transport cafe on the way back from away games

15 page thread on 2 footballers having a Maccy Ds 👍 👍
Love this forum
This.

McGeady looks like he has either a standard cheeseburger or hamburger and Maguire has a McFlurry and a coffee. It’s not like they both have supersized Big Mac meals or anything. If it’s straight after the game it’s even more of a non-story because players are encouraged to get plenty of calories in post-match for their recovery - I read somewhere that Chelsea order hundreds of pounds worth of Dominoes for the team bus after away games as a way to get calories into the players quick.

A standard cheeseburger has 301 calories - that’s about 50 calories more than one of the Nature Valley cereal bars I take to work for a snack.

Obviously if they are doing this every day it’s an issue (and there are concerns over Maguire’s fitness) but in context it’s fine - there are some right fannies on this thread.

Sunderland fans’ acceptance of this is why the players don’t give a fuck if they don’t perform. Why should they? Our fans lap it up. “Oh it’s just a burger” then “why shouldn’t they get pissed” then they whinge to fuck when those players can’t last 90 minutes without blowing out their arses after less than an hour, without ever thinking there might be a link between the two.

I’m a bit more relaxed about the fast food post match than booze - although the fact the both of them are out of form is a concern.

The booze thing though, is something that needs to stop. It’s a disgrace that our players were on the piss the day after Pompey away when their focus needed to be recovery.
Expecting pro footballers to eat like athletes is bed wetting now is it? THATS part of SAFCs problems reet there. Allowing the pisstaking party to continue unabated doesn’t help.

Tbf, fast food post match isn’t uncommon amongst athletes. The bigger issue is if they are doing it during the week

Maguire played 5 minutes. Why would he need to replenish a f***ing big Mac’s worth of calories? And how long did McGeady play for again?

To be fair, motorway services are not the place to buy healthy nutritious food. I struggle to buy healthy meals on away trips and I'm only an amateur athlete.

People are angry and just lashing out tbh. If we were truly the most professional outfit in League 1 history; the club would supply the food the bus home. As you say, finding healthy options at a service station isn’t easy and burger won’t do too much damage.

I’d be far more concerned if they were drinking on the bus home tbh
