Any vids of Majas hatrick ?

Would’ve been better for his development to stay and score goals against Rochdale and Wimbledon iirc.

He's scoring goals against teams I've literally never heard of now.

Still not going to judge him either way. I thought at the time it was a poor move for him, and now he's actually producing after nearly a year. Remains to be seen if he can do it consistently against decent opposition. That Djili and N'Dong were able to find clubs at the bottom of that division tells you that the standard of those clubs down there is piss poor.

I'm not apportioning blame, I'm simply making an observation on today's society. If I owned the club, I'd say : "This is how we're going to do it. Then set out a simple plan (possibly something along the lines adopted by Dortmund or Southampton), based on the development of the Academy players allied to analytics & mathematical modeling & extensive scouting along the lines of those used by the owner of Brentford & Midtjylland (Matthew Benham). I'd stress that we weren't going to make any big money signings at this level & that all future acquisitions would be commensurate with income & league status & based (but not exclusively reliant) on a combination of shrewd scouting & mathematical modeling. I'd urge the fans to come along for the ride, in the full knowledge that it might take 5-10 years to get us sorted. Whether or not the fans were onside, I'd press ahead, as promised. I wouldn't succumb to the lure of a quick but expensive fix. This, at least, is the theory, the template. Would I be hounded out? Who knows?!

You would have my backing wobbler, till the end. You dont happen to have 40m do you?

Posted this link in another thread. The article is from a couple of years ago and it's pretty relevant to where we are now.

Darwin's theory of sporting evolution

Ben's from a Rugby background and i was watching an interview with him the other night and i think he talks a lot of sense. The biggest obstacle would be the fans patience.

WTF if we hadn't sold him, we wouldn't of been able to splash out a division 3 record transfer fee for a proven goal scorer.

Was a terrible day for our club when he left, destined for greatness is Maja. But hang on we did get the old plodder Griggo instead.. brilliant

A brief recap. When he played for us, plenty on here slated him because "all he does is score goals". Then when he left us, plenty slated him for being a mercenary. Now he's started to do well, plenty are slating our owners because we let him go (this mercenary who only scores goals). He clearly wanted to go. We offered him what his agent asked for, then his agent moved the goalposts. He made the right decision to leave, in my opinion. It was a chance he might never have got again. Good luck to the lad. I hope he goes to the very top of the game & his jealous detractors think about him ivry day, grinding their teeth down to the gums.
At the time Maja's agent had 2 options, first was to agree a new deal with Sunderland and the 2nd was to find a foreign club.
Unless we paid silly money to Maja, and look where this got us in the past, the most lucrative option for both player and agent was Bordeaux.
Success at this level of football for a year or 18 months and a nice deal back to the premiership to someone like Palace.
The new owners were on a loser, the problem lies with the previous owners who failed to secure their asset when they could.
