Mr Hill

A pal of mine based in the footy world, claims Mr Hill is not responsible for ANY of the transfer incomings, inc last January window.
He does the contracts of the existing players and any player who LEAVES the club.
He should probably talk to Donald then as he’s said different on a number of podcasts. That leaves aside the utter nonsense that is the claim that being the contract negotiator is a role that is entirely separate from the transfer process - and has no influence over it. Donald has mentioned Hills involvement in every single aspect of football operations - even including youth development decisions. The idea that he’s merely a glorified financial admin is a load of old bollocks.
I can understand people not being happy when they contradict each other and even themselves but not sure how you can have a go when they are both saying the same thing.
But crucially an entirely different thing to what they’ve said in the past
NO mate JUST existing and out going
Lyle Taylor disagrees.

So tc whilst being off negotiated incomming contracts. Sounds like bollocks.

Also didn't Taylor name hill?

Also didn't the p'boro gobshite name hill?
It’s a load of shite. Hill was also the one who Hull contacted with the offer for Honeyman.
For me you have to consider how tight the purse strings are. So why would Donald employ a bloke to do that and nothing else when he could probably do it himself? Hill is either doing a lot more than we are told, or he has been given a job by his mate because he is his mate.
The podcasts from the first six months tell us everything. Hill is involved in EVERY football decision - from SDs own mouth.

My guess is that Donald has done his usual thing of being an excited schoolboy and over exaggerated what Hill was doing initially. He's then seen the stick he's getting on here and realised that people have completely misunderstood what he has actually been doing and has had to clarify.

I doubt Hill is absolved of any blame in terms of our recruitment since he's been here but the way people go on on here about his involvement just seems way over the top.

I don't know if that's true or not but if it is, do you honestly think that we'll have sold him solely on the say so of Hill? And if that did happen, the manager at the time needs to take a long hard look at himself for letting it happen.

Widely reported at the time and only mention to illustrate that this idea of Hill as an unfairly maligned administrative serf is complete and utter bollocks. With regards to your first bit, it’s more likely that the original story is true and that the recent talk is fabricated damage limitation.

So we can blame him for the mess that was made of the Maja situation?

"Jobs for the boys" tend to be the safest jobs.

Why would they do that though? Why would they care that much about Hill that they would both start lying about what he's actually doing because of stuff said on here?

And if Hull did contact Hill first then so what? Like I said, there's no way we'll have sold him on his say so.

Why is it when Donald lies people play it down as being an excited schoolboy'?

Haven't seen anyone describe Maja as an excited schoolboy in that thread about him saying he didn't want to leave.

No idea what the Maja reference is about or the relevance it has but to me, the thing about what Donald apparently said 18 months ago about Hill won't intended to have been a lie. It's just not something that would be worth lying about. He'll have just blurted something out without thinking and not expecting it to be dissected in detail on here.

Maja was talking out his arse and got called a liar. Donald talks out his arse and gets called an 'excited school boy'.

This wasn’t a momentary indiscretion. Hill was mentioned as a key figure by Donald in multiple football contexts - both at first team and youth levels - across multiple podcasts.
