Football Manager 2020

Anyone else finding the finances impossible to keep on top of? We’re in the championship at the minute with the 16th highest wage budget in the league, and yet we lose £1m a month.

I was in the championship for 2 seasons, without transfers we lost about 8m per season so I had to sell players to more than that amount.

Went up a little unexpectedly and it could have been a bit of a grind had we not. Prem is easy compared.

Just installed the demo onto my acient 2nd gen i3 to see how it runs - it actually runs ok!

This is the first FM i've played in many years - any decent tactics for lower league teams? I started out unemployed and have just taken over at Braintree.

Bought this, do you get FM Touch free with the main version? First impressions are it seems to take forever to get through pre season, lots of boring shit I’d rather not deal with.

i'd like to know this - i think i'm right in saying touch is more of a cutdown version - like cm's of old? i dont get tons of hours to play so i wonder if touch would be the right way for me to go - although if i get the full version i can switch back to touch would be handy.

I’ve figured it out, you go on steam and Touch is in your library waiting to be installed for free so long as you have bought the main version of the game.

I’m top of the league with the lads but wouldn’t say I’m playing particularly well. I’m winning a lot of games 1-0, Grigg and McNulty are shit.

What tactics are people using? I’m using default tiki-taka In a 4-1-4-1. I’ve tried all the default tactics out and can’t seem to get any sort of consistency.

Got promoted and champions of league 1 by goals scored over fleetwood. Nearly got sacked a few times during the season as had 2 runs of 4 or more losses in a row.
Scraped through on 86 points.
Funds a bit tight but making a decent championship squad. Confident i can stay up easily.
Brewster on loan from liverpool is my main man. Also bought armini a young cb from lazio when in league 1, he is rising rapidly. Now a good championship cb.
Leicester stole mumba from me for 8m matching release clause but did give me money to build team.
Team seems to constantly have lulls throughout season. Had to aggressively force them into a good team. Complacence is a big issue it seems with sunderland.
Playing 4 2 3 1 control possession game which is working well enough.
Only worry is i let lots of players contracts expire and i didn't realise you always need a player who has trained for 3 or more years at your club in each matchday squad. Hume is all i have left so has to always be on the bench which is a tad annoying.

41221 with Wyke target man. Unbeaten and in January.

Got to say Watmore and McGeady running at full backs is a good tactic. Mumba and Dobson becoming good as well.

Brewster on loan is a must.

Curtis Jones also very good. Ended up with a 35 year old Michael Dawson at the back tho.

Went on a fantastic run over Xmas winning 7 on the bounce including vital wins over promotion rivals. Can’t see us throwing promotion away now.

Still massively struggling to get my strikers to score though, Grigg has about 8 so far after 25 games. I’d say half of those have been pens.

Is this a common thing in the game? Or are Grigg, McNulty and Wyke just shit?

Won league one, top half finish in championship. Just starting my 3rd season. Had Troy Parrott on loan and he scored goals for fun. Leicester came in and paid silly money for Dobson so I was able to transform my team ready for season three

got rid of grigg to some asian league, he was shite. All those three were on mine too. Had Michael Obafemi on loan from southampton in league one and he scored loads,

McNulty is woeful. Played him pre-season and that’s it. Sold Grigg to Hull but played Wyke as target man and he’s good. But needs to suit his playing style.

He scored a hattrick in one cup game for me so I started him for the next 5-6 games, no change in tactics etc and he was hopeless. I gave Grigg a new contract with a massive goal bonus and he's still shit and now on more money and Wyke seems to shit his pants if he's in the first 11. To be fair I'm trying to cram him in as attacking forward to suit my tactics.

First season top at Christmas but Coventry are breathing down my neck. Picked up Tommie Hoban on a free who seems to be decent so far but is massively injury prone. Need a goalscoring striker though asap. Scraping a lot of 1-0's and McGeady and Maguire are the only ones scoring.

I peddled Maguire as well and play Watmore as a winger and McGeady inverted forward. Wyke for me scores in drips, unbeaten but drew last 3 games 0-0.

Problem for me is Power and Leadbitter are constantly knackered.

Aye Leadbitter is seemingly made of biscuits. Power not so much but the most effective seems to be Dobson and the Lithuanian (Slivka) I signed

Decided to do a Journeyman type save started unemployed with no badges and Sunday league football experience, KTP from the Finnish second tier offered me a job kept them up but finding decent players is now a struggle, you know it's bad when you see a 46 year old Tyson Nunez (yes he's still playing) and think he could do a job!
