Concerts

Love going to gigs, Spotify has really opened up a load of new bands for me. Much prefer the smaller venues, last stadium gig was Springsteen. Probably my least enjoyed gig of recent times, just can't get into it properly when it's in stadiums.

Glad you enjoyed it. I like Muse too, but wouldn't really fancy a place that big any more.

The London O2 is a good size for cheers featuring a babe that puts on a big show. It's large enough for the spectacle but the view is still good as Nd the seating and sound are purpose built for gigs. Big stadiums do nowt for me

Liverpool Arts Club (my second visit since AMG ownership) and I've seen exactly the same at the Ritz in Manchester on several visits.
Fair enough. It's a funny thing. I doubt knockin' a quid off a pint in venues would encourage many people to drink much more. People like to twist about the price of a pint, but ya tend to find if they want a drink, they'll pay whatever.

O2's good but it's still just a git big hall really. The First Direct in Leeds and the Hyrdo in Glasgow are far superior venues for a gig.

I’ve been to two concerts in arenas this year. I was very impressed with the First Direct Arena in Leeds. I was not impressed with the Manchester Arena, in fact I thought it was dangerous.

Nope. I know the prices so I'd get to the venue earlier if the price was more sensible. I only caught the end of the support act on Saturday night but I would have been there for all of his set but I was drinking in a nearby pub instead.
So you missed a band your ticket covered to save £3 on a 3 pints .Its like airports, hotels, cinemas etc .You know its going to be a bit dear but i for one work too hard to fret over a couple of quid once a month

Nice to see quality draft and cans in the Boiler shop etc ,don't mind the price if its half decent

I’m seeing the same bands in Blackpool a week tomorrow at an independent venue. I’ll see the support act in full there instead.

me and my mate bought tickets from Volume for a band at the Riverside. we were excited to get there and be first in the queue, then a lass came out and asked if were there to see the band. we excitedly said we were and she said they'd cancelled. we took our tickets back to Volume the next day and it turned out we were the only two who bought tickets for them 😄

might as well just watch a live DVD
 Care to name and shame them?

The band, not your mate.

Edit - just seen

I’m going!

Has anybody been to Brixton before, what kind of venue is it?

And why does my ticket say “unreserved seating”?
It’s an old theatre. Holds about 5,500. Downstairs is standing. You’ll be sat at the back, first come first served. Sells crap beer.

people love it. I think it’s crap. Albeit has a sloping floor so you can see.
Not that it matters as you’re seated

How do you mean first come first served?
