Losing the fans

Great post mate. You aren’t a mug, you knew what the Parkinson appointment was all about. I went to the Southend game at home and it was diabolical. Didn’t bother today and thank fuck. Won’t return until PP has gone. He’ll be lucky to get a job in the National League next.

Just give up. No sense in doing anything that makes you unhappy. This club is lost.

The sad thing, is that all of us have SAFC at heart. At the moment it really hurts, and we cant see any light at the end of the end of the tunnel. Sadly I think the mistakes our owners have made far outweigh the positives. The mistakes are beginning to drag the club down to depths we never thought we would see. Do I blame PP, not really. The blame lies with sorely with the owners.

It’s dead. Absolutely gone
Could be. If it ceases to fulfil its purpose to provide some unity, pride and entertainment to a community it might be best to close it down eventually. The world will still turn.

We’ve downgraded in every aspect of the club, we’re now a fully integrated and paid up League One outfit.

Donald and Co need to make a statement on how they plan to stop this slide into oblivion. I’m sure the lift situation is important to them, however I’m more concerned where the next win is coming from and what plans they have for the squad in January. The players look like they can’t be arsed, maybe when attendances start to fall then that might spring the owners into action.
Lost faith in don and co ......bigtime!Dont believe a word they say!Its not parky's fault he got appointed is it? but his post match comments are bewildering!and things are looking very bleakWe are utter shite!

I didn’t go today. I gave my ticket to my dad. I’m not 100% health wise so might miss Tuesday also.

It’s got to the point where I’m not angry anymore, I don’t think I’ll renew next season, I’ll still go but just pay on the day. I’m missing at least 40% of the games through work anyway.

This is the lowest, and definitely the flattest I’ve seen our support. Call me a bed wetter, etc, but the current owners are sucking the life out of the club.

Hope you feel better soon mate

At work last night a warm blanket came over me. It really did offer some comfort to me when I began to just simply resign myself.

I began to think that over last 100 or more years since the first ever day of fixtures in the football league were played, many of the 47 clubs in the current EFL League 1 and 2 were at some point in the top tier of English football. And for many years despite never being likely to see those days again have made a comfortable living out of being perennial League 1 and 2 clubs.

Perhaps the best thing the fans can do to get each other on side is to do the same. The days of us being a top 2 tier club may have sadly gone. We need to now focus our attention on being the best in the lower EFL leagues.

That doesn’t even make sense. By being the best of Leagues 1 & 2, we’d be in the Championship.

You’re asking us to be better than we are currently, which is what we’re trying and failing to do.

After Tuesday ;)
The thought just occurred. This run of games. Gillingham, Coventry and Burton. They are the 3 teams that ensured the 3 worst notorious relegations in Sunderland’s history.

Two of them as they were the only 2 relegations to 3rd tier football and the other due to an act of gamesmanship that is now part of football folklore.

I was looking around during the game today and I said I’ve never ever seen the sol so deflated, was a horrible thing to realise, we’ve had the life sucked out of the place, the current group of players are the worst I’ve ever seen, some were just swanning about today, simple passes going astray 2nd to everything! The recruitment has been the worst ever aswell from players to the manager, absolutely scrimped on everything! I’m giving Tuesday a miss I couldn’t sit through that again and I’m sure there’ll be a few in the same boat, we’re f***ing dying from the inside out, we need a priest

Could be true, top flight football could be lost to a generation. Look at Leeds and they are a bigger club than Sunderland. 17 years of wilderness. Babies have become adults in that time!!

A mate texted me and asked if the 40 league places between Newcastle and Sunderland is a record?

I see and hear it. The gates will fall below 20,000 soon. The trickle will become a flood out of the ground.

Glad me poor old dearly departed Daddy isnt around to see what has happened to his beloved club. Its the only thing that ever wound him up in life. Its hard enough going without him tbh.....this season might be the finish for me.
