Pretty impressive and it makes you wonder what else is in the pipeline, computational photography seem to be coming on leaps and bounds thought in some ways I am not sure this is a good thing

From that article, it looks just like she is using a colour chart and ‘correcting‘ the colours unless I am missing something.

She is but the algorithm does it pixel by pixel (and there is some other clever stuff behind it around distances) - in theory it gives you the colours as they would look in air and kills the haze
