RR Podcast: With Paul Reid & Charlie Methven - submit your questions/topics to discuss

I agree.
I’m boring myself repeating myself.
But I just wanted him to say those words.
I totally agree it would have been good if this point was raised. I know RR can only choose a limited number of questions but believe you're a parent of one of those players whose moved on so coming from yourself it would have been interesting to see how methven reacted to the question.

@Ghandi Floss is this maybe something the RAWA could raise with the club?

Mind I suspect he'd trot out some fairly bland line of not wanting to keep unhappy players at the club or standing in the way of them moving onto the big PL teams.

Probably.
But at least it wouldn’t be blatantly misleading the listener

It's the best bit of content that RR do, but it is what it is, an amateur podcast with amateur interviews. Not sure why they throw their toys out the pram when people are dissatisfied by that.

I personally enjoy it and it would be a shame if the level of access RR get to the board dries up. Having said that, the second interviewer who asks the really long-winded questions needs binning off

We wait with baited breath.
The level of criticism yourselves and WMS get is ridiculous!

Personally, i'm fuming that in all the podcasts with Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven not once have you mentioned the AOL trees, but i'll let you off for that!

In all seriousness, keep up the good work some cracking podcasts both from yourselves and WMS!

Its pretty sad this like, Ive mates who support other clubs who even listened in on last years podcasts n thought the openess was brilliant.
Fantastic publicity for the club to be so open.
Then the main man goes into hiding because of a few names.
Very sad n pissed me off tbh, feels like the last thing we need at this pivotal point, awful judgement.

Was it openness though? Or was it just PR designed to make people think the way they wanted them to?

Since its been pointed out that things they've said hasn't been true, and since the wheels have visably started to fall off, the 'openess' has disapeared.

Fed us a load of shite from his spin doctor then fucked off into hiding when the going got tough, using abuse from the fans as an excuse. (Which is more shite)

I guess most clubs aren't so open because they know exactly what will happen. It should have been pretty obvious to a couple of intelligent business men.

CM did make me chuckle when he was on about the rallying calls. Saying he read that he should shut the fuck up, but then when he did (because he was too involved in the investment talks), everyone was asking where he was.

I don't want to start a new thread on this but is anyone else not a little concerned that they've ditched Tony Davison and Mark Moiseley, Stewart Donald has basically disappeared and Methven only works part time? That leaves Tony Coton as running the entire club in Methven's absence? What's his commercial experience of running a football club I wonder.. Anyone?

Anyone?

Worse than that. It’ll be Hill

In that case, there would be one WMS podcast ever.

Aye that's what a lot seem to be forgetting. These things are absolutely voluntary on the part of the club, and I think some have misunderstood what they were introduced for. SD and CM have always been big on fan engagement but I don't think they envisaged forensic examinations of accounts/ functioning of departments as being a key part of these chats. I think it was meant to be more general, more updates on the fan experience stuff, taking any recommendations about the match day experience, that sort of thing.

I've mentioned it a few times but the meetings they hold with RAWA aren't voluntary, they have to meet with an appointed supporters group at least twice a year under EFL rules (not sure what would happen if they didn't agree with the appointment of the group and if they could push to meet with a potentially "softer" group like the BLC mind, but they need to agree to some form of formal meeting), so if there are real concerns about key areas of the club, that is the forum in which they should be brought up and discussed.

I can absolutely understand why people want to hear a lot about the, frankly, much more important stuff, especially given our performance since Donald and co took charge but realistically it's not going to happen

I thought Methven said that Stewart Donald is still very much running it, he's just disappeared from supporter engagement duties and isn't turning up to matches any more? We do obviously need a replacement for Davison mind, hopefully they're recruiting now!

Davison wasn't ditched. He left for family reasons and said as much himself.

Can somebody give me a quick catch up on why we're booting off here?

Methven said Parkinson was appointed because he kept Colchester in the championship despite never managing Colchester in the championship.

Methven said we are competing with PL teams at u23 level when the majority are championship clubs.

Reid said the u18's and u23's keep losing because they moved an u14 into the u16's.

People have criticised the interviewers for not picking up on things like this. Don't think I've seen anyone booting off though.
