RR Podcast: With Paul Reid & Charlie Methven - submit your questions/topics to discuss

Yeh. I remember.
All the more reason to tell the truth rather than spout the ‘nothing he can do’ line over & over.
And that make up silly stories of kids in England camps..
These interviews are supposed to find answers aren’t they, to fans questions, they might not always like the answer, but it’s better than someone trying to pull the wool.
I’ve got a different interpretation. There is nothing we can do. Through the correct channels our developed talent is entirely vulnerable.
I don’t know for a fact but I’m sure some tapping up goes on. It happens at every level of football I’ve been involved with and can’t imagine the elite level is any different. Just more sophisticated maybe.

No I agree.
Of course it must happen.
But in the instances I can confidently speak of. There was no tapping up & they simply allowed the clubs to approach.
Again, I’ve said before, but you have mentioned it, I’m not saying denying the approach would be the right thing to do.
BUT I just wanted him to say that this was the case rather than implying to the listeners, who don’t know any different, that those who have left we’re all tapped up. Apparently at England camps by their new mates 🤣

Fair comment.

This isn't a knee jerk reaction. We were reluctant to do another after the last one, and the reaction to this has pretty much finished off any desire we had to bring club officials onto the Podcast. As I've just said to someone on Twitter - People clearly feel we aren't making the most of these interviews and that's fair enough. Perhaps if we stop doing them, someone else will pick them up and do a better job of it. That's fair isn't it?

Think it's best off they just stop tbh. There's nothing of value coming from them and they are being used by the club to create divides in the fan base.

This, they are two entirely different things.

The podcast isn’t going anywhere! But think it’s about time now we put these interviews with club staff to bed. They aren’t worth the hassle that comes with the fallout from them.

Good. Hopefully WMS will pick it up and actually press the owners and counter their responses, like adults, instead of being in awe of speaking to someone from the club and lapping it all up, like bairns.

RR are being fannies here if they're just abandoning these podcasts because fans are frustrated with the questions not being asked. Proper weird reaction from a fan focused poddy. They can disagree, or agree with the criticism, but to full in stop doing them just makes them seem fragile. It's up to them in the end though.

Tend to agree, if they pack it in then fair enough, they’ll sharp be forgotten about.

Having listened:
Criticism of RR is ott, the lads tried to be as diresct as possible and you could hear their frustration at the answers.
Reid spoke well. There was no need to add anything to his sensible answers but Charlie couldnt resist. In Charlies defence his manner is so abrupt that even when hes making valid points you wash over them as his delivery sounds so spiteful.
Similar to s well known poster.
Finally re bally position, was this announced before as the first I heard of the role was from a certain poster. Inside info?;)

Again, slagging off of RR is way ott. Keep up the good work lads.

Finally, as suspected, no substance/examples/anything to support the ‘abuse’ claim.

I don't want to be harsh on RR, but the last one was really poor. I think it was more politeness that made them hold back on Menthven rather than deliberate crawling or anything daft like that - but the man needed asking some tougher questions there and then. I still can't get over what he said about the f***ing lift.

To be fair he pushed him on the fan abuse and on the team performance at least to some extent. There could have been a bit more but very hard to get that balance right.

I don't think anybody should pick them up. They are only ever going to give their version of events. They will avoid any proper questioning, especially Charlie. They may as well just release a podcast themselves

definately had all his own way as a bairn!

We wait with baited breath.

We've always kept the dialogue open with the club but haven't been approached for a long time. We were asked to host a club event with SD which we agreed to, but there's been no request from them to come on the podcast since they first arrived. Not sure why.

There’s a variety of reasons why we’ve left certain things alone, and we have discussed this privately in the past. We have previously extended the offer to SD to come on the pod but as we said to you at the time there doesn’t really seem any point in duplicating content because it serves no purpose for the listener.

People always criticise. I think just ignore it and crack on with what you do. Sure plenty appreciate it.
