Howey, Gray, Armstrong

You're an absolute joke mate. As soon as anyone says anything remotely approaching criticism you're on the defensive straight away.

All I've said is that Armstrong et al voiced their concerns after SD took over. At the time I was a bit like you and thought they were just bitter rants. But as time goes by it looks increasingly less bitter and increasingly more accurate.
Excactly my point he is bitter! He’s made various comments on Twitter just to try and have a sly dig. I am not on the defensive people can whinge in all they want about the owners, but people are whinging about stuff that they haven’t got a clue about.

They never just said stuff when they didn’t have a clue about the owners, Armstrong was bitter about it because he was involved in a different consortium
Armstrong said we didn’t have an appropriate scouting structure . He was challenged strongly and named by Donald and told he was wrong . He was also ridiculed on social media and fanzines with access to the club . He was probably right and the treatment of a bloke who’s portrait is in the ground was dreadful

We cut back on scouting because the costs of the club were ridiculous, they had to bring costs down massively or we would of been fined by the efl. Now things are sorted more financially they are investing in the scouting network

They did. Won't be popular on here, but it's turning out exactly as they were worried it would.

not only that, if people want to get all righteous about ‘abuse’, those three former players (a couple of which played over 300 games for the club), got all sorts of stick from the faithful for being critical and cautious about the current owners.

I think that's correct, though you have to wonder what went wrong with his group if Donald and Methven came out on top in the battle, given they had no links to the club or area and had to put their case, as well as their money forward.

Also regarding what Mickey Gray has supposedly said (not aware of it) then wasn't Mickey Gray massively critical of Short, before Short met him and probably got pissed with him, then all he could spout was how much short was doing for the club, so as much as I like Mickey I wouldn't listen to too much of what he says.

Not aware of what Howey has said either. Think I'd be more inclined to listen to him than the other two.
Mickey Gray's concerns were raised on Talksport on Jim White's show brought to you by Jim White in association with Wickes. I couldn't recount every word but it was basically along the lines of this takeover not being everything us Sunderland fans were hoping for in terms of investment etc. In short nowt to get excited about, and concerns about whether they could actually take us forward. Donald came on the phone to allay those concerns and Mickey basically had to take the bloke at his word just like the rest of us that there was nowt to worry about and he was the right man to take Sunderland forward again.

Now I'm not saying it looks like Mickey was right all along, but he certainly doesn't look quite so silly now to have been asking questions from the off.

Not the point . They said he was wrong and vilified him

He was 100% correct, we haven't got a pot to piss in and he told us that from the start.

He's a Sunderland lad and a fan of the club, he's not bitter at all, he just wants to see his club, our club, do well

So ellis had a look at their offer and eventually stopped laughing, gave it to sd cm .As ive said on other threads lets see what jan brings .

When ES sold the club to SD and CM he said he chose them over the other consortium because it was in the best interests of the club.
I'd love to know what made him choose these two.
hes not exactly renowned for his sound judgement mind

a combination of bitting cold, political uproar and post christmas depression

Ellis wiped the clubs debt out just to get rid of it.

If he is willing to write off all of the money he was owed it's because no one looking at buying us could afford to take on the debt.

He cleared the debt and wiped his hands with us, handing us over to anyone mental enough to take us on ... just our luck it was a group of chancers who thought they could make a quick buck with a rebound promotion and quick sale

Things will become a lot clearer in January I agree, my intuition tells me we will buy no one unless we sell first as we have no money

Your wrong for a start because they do have money

But he wasn’t wrong they had to cut costs in many departments to get the club running properly again. This constant having a go at the owners is getting embarrassing, fans were praising them last year, as soon as things go slightly wrong everyone turns on them

how do you know? You don’t know what goes on behind the scenes of the club.

Exactly mate, what is funny is because we can and have hounded out managers people think they can do this with owners. These owners will be here for quite awhile yet so a huge amount of threads are ending up as anti sd cm posts.Nobody is happy with present situation but ellis had an offer off armstrong and co and chased them. Also as i said the other day its going to be funny when marcus maddison and others stream in 7 weeks time.

They have said we have money, we have spent money, not sure what people are expecting we are a league 1 club we aren’t going to go out and spend millions every transfer window

we shouldnt need to spend much, its the running of the club and constant spin and lies were are being fed. We couldn’t even afford to fix a lift ffs. They are quite clearly running the club on other people’s money.
