Bloke claiming on totalsport last night it’ll take us 5 year for promotion.

Itll take as long as the time other clubs stop seeing us as a scalp. Once that happens, because we are so shit, their levels will drop and we can start competing again.
That's already happened, we're not seen as a scalp, we're just part of the league one furniture now unfortunately.

The club's found its new level at league one
I joked about this with a SAFC fan in Sydney at the start of the 2018 season but now its looking a bit close for comfort. We've got seemingly dis-illusioned players, an un-exciting choice of manager, nothing happening at U 18 and 23's level and a poor recruitment infra structure, hardly the blueprint for a reversal of fortunes..

Oof

All depends on this ‘investment’ for me.

This January transfer window is huge for us.
Whereas I agree, I’m worried that now the new investors are onboard and we are within touching distance of the playoffs, if we don’t go up this season it will finish even the most hardy of supporters or optimists.

And even longer if we keep replacing bad with worse.

that is my point look at our list of managers without checking think we have had about 13 managers since Keane in 2006 that’s averaging out 1 per year and we have had some decent managers but not stuck with them when things have turned bad but we have slowly downgraded the quality to pretty much rock bottom
Unfortunately we are at the lowest point in club’s history sacking Ross was wrong imho we seemed to have steadied the decline and all be it performances were not pretty on the eye we were building a hard to beat team under Ross
Time will tell but PP will probably not get long enough to put his stamp on the team

I think Ross absolutely had to go. Hard to beat we might have been but the aim has to be promotion and I saw nothing to suggest he'd suddenly get us top two, and we all saw how a Ross side approached a play off final last season so I'd have no confidence even if he got us top 6. It was incredibly tepid, poor, boring stuff. Hell he even kept banging on about clean sheets and was then the only manager in the league not to manage to get a single one (and we'd played some fairly poor sides). Parkinson isn't great but we've had 2 since he arrived despite, imo, looking like getting forward more. Time might (or might not) prove that he wasn't the right replacement, but I'll never think Ross should have stayed
