The one man that is 100% to blame

Something's been up with the current owners since the playoff games. No big battlecry, no ticket selling push leading up to the Pompey home semi, just Methven's badly timed post playoff final comments. After that he vanished and everything was through Donald. Now Donald's vanished and we're listening to Methven.

I don't think everything this season is as big a disaster as some clearly do. Not going as well as it could be but we're not out of the picture, plenty of season to go.

I don't believe they haven't got a pot to piss in. I do think they're looking to maximise profit when it comes time for the sold signs to go up though, and that involves as little personal investment as possible.

The time we're having of it on the pitch a bit of unity behind the scenes wouldn't go amiss. Something's not right there though. It's reminiscent of Short losing interest. To go from the noises they were making last summer about how great the club and fans are, and the 100 points patter from Donald in the summer, to not turning up for talk ins or games doesn't inspire confidence it was completely genuine.

Donald only seems to send Charlie out when he's on the back foot. He's like an attack dog. If things are going well Donald is front and centre. When they aren't Charlie appears like a f***ing gene

What a load of f***ing shit

given you just added nothing but abuse to the argument... you just lost it.
Short put a lot of money into the club, Donald has taken millions out of it.

really ...please prove that. Still doesn’t change the fact Short was a failure and put this club in league one.
You really need to put your agenda towards me to one side and look at the facts.....And also, you're just run of the mill supporter with limited info! ;)

no agenda mate, but you do make a good point I am just a run of the mill supporter basing opinions on what I know, and can see. Whilst applying the insight and knowledge I have for managing commercial organisations.
I think people conjure things up conspiracy style in their minds based on the same info, and I think that’s unjust.
I stand to be corrected by some fact to the contrary
They took it on to have the chance to make millions you sanctimonious clown , they’ve hardly put a penny of own money in . A year and a bit grief is the price they willing to pay to make a massive profit . Gone tits up for them though now , Americans will force them out and pay them little as absolutely possible. The sooner the better

Good try but we can’t all be brow beaten.
Again someone choosing to use selected information whilst ignoring most of context involved

I think the plan was a one year plan. Get us promoted and sell. Once that didn't happen it's gone very quiet.

I don't get how anyone can possibly blame Short for the current mess. Yes, he got us double relegated but that's the first team. The whole club is an absolute shambles currently.

2017/18 Last Season With Short
1st Team - Bottom Championship
Under 23's - 11th PL2 D1 (Relegated) - 22 Pts
Under 18's - 7th - 32 Pts

2019/20 (So Far)
1st Team - 7th League One (Beat off Leicester U21's)
Under 23's - Bottom PL2 D2 - 1 Pt
Under 18's - Bottom - 0 Pts

The state of the youth teams currently is as an absolute shambles and it's getting ignored by the fact the first team is just as bad.

As much as Bain was hated on here it would take something special to be in a worse position than we are right now with the current clowns in charge.

Only thing I hold him accountable for now is giving the club to these two!

Yet he kept us a float all season in the championship under Grayson and Coleman, then wiped the debt when he sold us to his mate.....You post is deluded, none factual and utter shite!
So you don't think Short is to blame at all then?
If that is what you are saying, you are an absolute numpty.

Good post

For the situation that Sunderland are currently in is Ellis Short no question. Can anybody please explain to me why our current owners get so much abuse as you would think that they are the people that put us in league 1? All of this bitterness and hatred towards them doesnt make sense to me, there is a lot of people who forget or who choose to forget, a lot of people are quick to react to the here and now rather than think who put us here in the first place. There is vicious posts and threads on here with absolute no foundation, all aimed at the wrong people and that is a matter of fact

Short lost a fortune trying to make us successful (albeit failing).
Donald will make a fortune regardless of where he leaves us.

He is without doubt mainly to blame. And that is backed up by the fact he was the one constant.

His hands off approach and poor appointments to key leadership roles at the club was absolutely to blame for us arriving back in the Championship and then League One. However, he gave the new owners a very good opportunity to start afresh and rebuild. Short can’t be blamed for the recruitment over the last eighteen months or for where we find ourselves now. To entirely remove all agency from Donald et al is very simplistic and letting them completely off the hook

This badly advised shit doesnt cut it with me, it was his job to put the right people in the right positions, he didnt and were in league 1, no excuse as far as im concened
It’s impossible to just go out and identify the right people or Man U would have done it for their managers since Ferguson - and even Ferguson himself got that one wrong.
