Next time Stewie comes out of hiding...

To answer the OP question. It seems to me, a bit like the summer window, not the best option or even the least worst but simply the cheapest. These owners should never be near a club with the potential of SAFC because they are killing off that potential. We await the next move.

They needed to cut our costs to entice investors- massive risk if we don't get any of course- great if we do,- it's truly a death ot glory move

From an article I just read in the Athletic:

When the meeting broke up at 2.45pm, Ross called Heather, his father and his lawyer. Sunderland had told him they would release a statement confirming his departure after 5pm but it came at 3pm and they scrambled to get a message to Meadow, who was still at school, before the news broke. Other members of his family found out on television. Beyond saying, “I didn’t have much time,” Ross will not comment.

Quite telling of how our club is being run if you ask me.

I’d rather have Parkinson than Phillips. Other than scoring some goals for us 20 years ago, I’m not sure what his credentials are. No other club trying to get promoted would consider him. Toss up between him and Ainsworth. He doesn’t exactly play expansive football either. Stendel would have been above him on my list at the start, but it’s not cut and dry. He’s literally just been sacked, and he’d have to adapt his style massively with our squad.

Let’s not pretend like those three are obviously better options.
Really don't get the pro Phillips argument or why people are getting so worked up about a drawn cup tie
Judge Parkinson later on his league record and not now.

The thing is, they've given all these talks and I still don't know what the plan actually is, I'll listen to the recent podcast, hopefully they actually have a strategy. It just looks like a total mess to date. The fans are totally pissed off, they had an opportunity to give the place a boost when they were looking to replace Ross, but alas they appointed the least popular person for the position.

I really don't know where we're going to go from here. We had hope that a takeover was on, that's now off, they've been given money (but at what cost and why?), but I have little faith that it's going to be invested properly. We need to get out of this league, but it makes you wonder if they're happy to stay put.

....which I doubt will happen soon, he should be asked point blank why he thinks Parkinson is better than Stendel, Ainsworth or even Phillips (none of those seem unrealistic) and made to defend the appointment. We are already back to just getting a press release from the club and no dialogue because they know they're a f***ing disgrace and their decision making is a joke.

I haven't heard one supporter say they're happy about Parkinson, or even defend him based on anything concrete. He's had two promotions from this division in 16 seasons at this level. Nothing other than blind faith could lead you to believe he is a good choice.

Don't expect him to ever be asked but would love to hear him try to justify it.
Won't surface til we aren't a shitshow
