A memorial to soldiers who were disfigured in WWI

Very worthwhile memorial.
I remember seeing a film a while back about disfigured french soldiers all living together in hospital. Very impacting and psychological but can I hell as remember what it was called.
Oh and wad by the way.
There was a very decent documentary about a surgeon who helped airmen in WW2.

Also seeing what was called shell shock some of look physically intact but were mentally scared for life.. It's now called post traumatic and sufferers can get help... In 1918 they were left to get on with it... Today I wear my poppy with pride and thanks to the men who gave so much for us all...

Weapons were built with the sole intention of tearing people apart I'm sorry to say they still are, there is still much work to do. My great grandfather fought in WWII he has a grave in Sunderland on the main road and I have another relative who fought and his name it etched into the memorial in Easington Lane.

We are lucky to be born in a time without any major conflicts that cost millions of lives... Your grandad was a hero who gave the ultimate for his country..
