Rick Stein's Secret France

May be quite good. I'm guessing it's about food and booze. Starting with the best whelks in the world.
I'll probably watch it at some point but I predict he'll be presented with a plate of pebbles from the beach which is 'so simple, I don't know why we can't do this in the UK'. He'll then go and watch some pensioners playing a traditional game of Le Bingo whilst quaffing wine and he'll lament that 'you just don't get this sort of thing in the UK without everyone fighting and soiling themselves'.

He’s done a U.K. one. It was very good. I agree he does say we don’t get this back home like but I don’t think there’s any malice in it he’s simply wishing we could experience what he is as viewers.

Like the time he was served raw onion in a motorway services in India and tried to make out it was simple brilliance.
He went to Germany with his knacker son and saw people drinking on the street which apparently couldn't happen in England without people fighting.
He can't help himself.

Aye that was class the onion 😂

His books are great though. There’s not a bad recipe in his Mexican book. His sweet corn with mayo and cheese is one of the best accompaniments to food I’ve ever had. I fancy it now really.

Making that for a family lunch tomorrow. Fucked if I’m doing the stewed apples thing with it mind. Maybe some fine beans or something fresh and green to go alongside.
I hope it goes well, AGM
It's basically, seafood in a white sauce.
I personally, would also go with fine beans, and maybe some crusty bread too.
Stewed apples just doesn't do it for me. 😣
Enjoy, mate, & let us know how it goes 👍
