6 games 4 defeats

The appointment of PP stank to high heaven of accepting another season in this dogshit league. Worrying times.
The mental thing about it all is that most of us knew parkinson was shite when he was appointed but theres some of our fans happy to just continue as we are as its ‘fashionable’ to not criticise the manager, the team, the owners etc. Since last season finished its clear that the no1 priority is reduce wages, save money, and still some will not have it. As you say, worrying times ahead.

I think it is crazy to sack someone who lost so few games.

Draws can be worked on, at least give hi until December and if we're not looking good enough pull the trigger.

Why give him another season then sack him so soon into it, can only think the board panicked as the fans turned on him but they should have been stronger than that. A large proportion of fans have no idea about football, some of the conversations you hear people having in the pub and on the terraces is nothing short of embarrassing.

I just don't know - I think the particular pressure was the board knowing January was too late if a change was needed. He did lose very few games but at this level the lack of wins was coming home to roost. We were very close last time and there was a feeling that things had gone backwards and the board point to 'underlying analytics' being in reverse. I think we would have been close again, but probably not auto promoted and that was the bottom line for the board and most fans. With hindsight he should have gone in the summer IF what was happening by the end of the season wouldn't be acceptable 10 games or so into this season. I still maintain we were, and are, a decent striker away from promotion. Was this the fault of Ross, Parkinson has not turned Grigg or Wyke around yet and the clock is ticking. We all hoped it would work out but indications to be fair were not good, so I think they painted themselves into a corner. I wasn't surprised at the sacking, it could well be argued it came very quick in the end - to my mind maybe 4 or 5 games early. But he's gone - will Parkinson take us up instead. We'll have to wait and see, vitally we still see no competent striker.

What a load of nonsense. Stop making excuses.

He said himself he wanted to win and had been told by the board he was expected to do well in this cup because it raised an extra 1m getting to the final last year.

So many far fetched theories when the reality is he isn't a very good manager. It's as simple as that.
I’ll ignore the 1st sentence as it’s what I hate about PF and won’t respond again if personal comment is included.

As for what he said about wanting to win and what he has been told y the board. He did say that you’re right, he’s hardly likely to say anything different though is he. I think it’s more telling that he made clear he was experimenting and I support that. As for what he’s been told by the board. I don’t know what got said in his interview process so I can’t use that in the argument. I do know that he experimented with Kimpioka last night (unsuccessfully in my opinion) and previously the board had said no to that so something has changed.
Whether he is a good manager or not is a judgement call. He has some decent success and some bang average seasons on his CV. I hope he has one or two successful ones with us.
No comment on the far fetched theories rant either. Happy to debate footy Nelson. Not prepared to get personal.

Absolutely agree that we would have been there or thereabouts under Ross, if not top 2 then top 6 certainly.

Obviously play-offs is a gamble but far less of a gamble for me than sacking him and appointing Parkinson - the whole thing just makes no sense to me.

Reminds me of when Boro sacked Southgate because he wasn't top of the league but they were doing ok, they looked certain for promotion even if it wasn't winning the league. They had just beaten Derby 2-0 and were 1 point off top spot. Crazy decision, even worse than ours but has a lot of similarities for me.

Errrmmm. Ross got to a final and Parky has managed two wins (against the worst teams in the league) in six, losing the other games.

It's not the cups people care about per se. It's the fact getting humiliated by a bunch of kids does not bode well for us or the bloke we've put in charge.

His start has been shocking and people seem to want to pretend otherwise.

People want to pretend that results aren't important, that we're playing better football.

Yet ultimately, if we're not winning games, we're falling further behind and our hopes of automatic promotion are diminishing each game, and to be frank, I couldn't care how we are playing football so long as we're winning games.

He tried to win. He lost. It's very simple.

I honestly think it's just a case of how people are dealing with a horrible situation.

No one wanted him. He's an uninspiring appointment and after all the talk of a takeover it was a lead balloon in terms of ambition for SAFC.

Some people, for whatever reason, have now decided they're going to try to spin every negative as a positive and kid themselves it's getting better. It's not. Four defeats out of six (even though they're pretending one counts as a draw) and a couple of insepid displays to boot. Awful.

I've said it before but it's just like Wilko. People just ignoring what is in front of them in the blind hope it works out when we all know it won't.

He will be gone within 12 months.

He hasn't been personal in his post, he has just disagreed with you

To be fair, Wycombe and Oxford were pretty much write-offs anyway and I thought we played well against South End despite the unfortunate lack of results.

I don’t even think we’re playing any better! 4 losses out of 6 is shite by anyones standards

Back to back home wins in the league, both with clean sheets along with much more positive play away from home. We were atrocious in every away game under Ross this season. Parky will convert that away form and soon we will be picking up away wins in the league with clean sheets too.

Not sure why such a melt down. Forget about the game the other night. We have actually started to play like the team on the front foot creating chances every game.

I didn’t want PP but I think he will come good

We have been pretty awful in every game except Tranmere, despite your rhetoric, nothing has changed.

Parkinson or Ross it all depends on what happens in January.

We failed last season with Ross and ended up 5th.

This year with a weaker squad we look like we’d struggle to even emulate that which is why January is key.

A couple of decent signings could make all the difference it’s as simple as that

I’d disregard the Wycombe game, he was still doing press conferences on the Thursday.
So 2 home wins, effectively a 90 minute draw away to the form team in the division. A defeat away when we could easily have won, and defeat in a cup we really have no interest in progressing in.
There’s different ways at looking at things.
