Significant investment by FPP has been made

In fairness, it appears Nixon was right re a takeover collapsing. FPP set up a holding company, it was reported by sources close to the clubs hierarchy that the investment was more akin to a takeover with Donald staying on as a minority shareholder and running proceedings. That isn’t happening in that fashion. This investment is clearly a very different arrangement

But Donald himself had said from day one, in fact before we even got to day one that it was always investment that we would need to move on at higher levels and investment now we were looking at. The guy in May (who seemed to initially think it was a takeover before it collapsed) suggested takeover as did various media sources, but Donald kept on saying investment and he mentioned investment time and time again even going back to last season.

Donald despite others saying he wanted a quick profit and to get out, even though he may still be getting a quick profit somehow, maintained they wanted to stay and oversee/be involved with the football club over some five year plan they had IIRC.

Maybe what collapsed is that these guys wanted the club lockstock and barrel and Donald and Co's main sticking point wasn't the price as was guessed in the media, but their involvement.

Jesus, any potential good news is immediately met by some on here with tin foil hat theories, you couldn’t make it up.

a few months ago we were expecting a takeover and now we have what appears to be some sort of loan

any interest from this group is of course a good thing but i think people are rightly curious/skeptical as to what has actually happened here

whatever the reasons, Nixon was at least partially correct that the takeover / investment deal as it had been set up in the summer, was off.

He may not have got all the detail correct, but he got the overall gist.

Iirc somebody posted where SD mentioned it as a takeover

how? they are ,only putting £10m in..if they convert £10m it wouldnt get them a majority of the shares..current owners would still have that..so couldnt be driven out..
I don’t know how SD can think the club is worth more than £15 if he paid £15mil for the club and sold 20% for £3mil to juan surely that makes the club worth £15mil I can’t see why shares would increase as nothing has improved.

Me too. I've been very critical of the whole set up recently. In Donald's defence he could argue a lot of time has been focused on sorting this investment and now he night have the time, and resource, to address these issues and make improvements. Let hope so. It's certainly a positive step though.
Get rid of Coton and Hill.......doubt it.

What ever the investment amount is, one thing is certain - Hill and Coton must NOT be allowed to spend it.

The club desperately need to employ an experienced director of football or whatever the title is and allow him to run football operations.

Read what Methven's said mate, Coton is being tasked with developing our scouting network...

It's as if some on here would rather have nothing, just so they can follow up with the witch hunt on the club ownership and current and former users of these discussion boards. Fking pathetic TBF.

Its the same on twitter. People moaning for months that SD wants a quick profit and that he's botched the deal, then moaning right down to individual words SD said in a podcast 6 months ago etc. Now its moaning because it might be a loan/downpayment/investment/beginnin of a future takeover but its not clear enough. Moaning because we don't know exactly how much they've invested, moaning because SD and CM ( The two blokes who have secured the investment) are still running the club. I've even seen moaning because Sartori "hasnt put his hand in his pocket enough". Like any of is know whos actually funding what and i've never know our fanbase to be so obsessed with where the money is coming from etc.

I really dont know what people want? Whatever form of investment this is, it can only be a good thing. 4 billionaires arent going to send us millions of pounds, not follow up on it and not expect a return down the line.

I hope the investors impart some of their business operations savvy to our team.

Everyone seems to have a different take on the "issues" at SAFC, but it cannot really be that complex. First stop Recruitment.

Best of luck to them and us.

Good old Charlie mentions coton setting up the new scouting so we might aswell set fire to that cash.

It isn’t necessarily moaning man. Is it a bad thing for people to want to know what’s going on? Is it bad to ask or query the financial arrangements and future ownership? Every other club’s fans in the country would ask these questions. If FPP were to takeover, they’d be the fifth set off owners we’ve had in the 21st century. Each set of owners have had their pros but all have certainly had their cons. And given where we’ve ended up, currently sitting tentatively in the third division, I think it’s about time our supporters started asking more and more questions about the people who are running the show. It’s better to do that than to treat every one who comes in as a white knight who will save the club and restore former glories and then demand their removal when things go tits up.

That doesn’t mean any owner should get abuse in public, online or wherever. That is wrong. But just because someone shows financial interest in our club it doesn’t mean that everyone should automatically kowtow to owners or not scrutinise their actions. I’ve said it before, but the relationship between club supporters and owners should be similar to that of a dog and a lamppost. We should support the club, it’s heritage and it’s future, not the temporary custodians. If the owners do well and deliver, praise them to the hilt. I know I certainly will.

OK, most of what has been posted on here re the investment is not true, the facts will be out there in the next few days to many shit stirrers on this.
And some people are never satisfied.

There are 100% some people on here who didn't want it to go ahead. I'm absolutely not in doubt about that. And not because they thought that was in the best interests of the club.
