Significant investment by FPP has been made

I am not so sure about that. The rumours a couple of weeks ago were about a secured loan - which had me wondering what it was secured against.

Methven's statement says

"Our agreement is confidential and I wouldn’t want to speak for the investors on that [long-term plan], but obviously this is a very large sum of money for an investment outside the Premier League and will enable the club to have strategic certainty for the next couple of years"

Which basically tells us nothing and unfortunately is just going to lead to more rumours and conjecture.

No surprise. It's been that way since the day they walked into the club. Cant trust them at all. The way they bought the club still doesn't sit right with me and the disappearance of our parachute payments in all of this. In fact they wouldn't need investment at all if they were rightfully put into the club as they are designed for. And now we are going to be left scratching our head over this investment/loan. Add to that, theres absolutely no expertise within the club to ensure this investment is well spent and we know first hand how fast that can evaporate into nothing if invested poorly.
The saving grace is, whilst Methven may think we are thick as fuck and can pull the wool with a few cliches, they will be dealing with goliaths of the business world who know exactly what they are doing. The fact they are involved and have put money in is promising at least.

Hope the club puts out a statement with some more detail tbh. Is it just a loan initially, which we pay ball with interest and if they fancy they could then just bugger off and have nowt to do with us again, or is it similar to the deal with the Marlins where they can be paid back in shares and eventually own a chunk of the club. Don't see why they'd want the former like, they aren't a bank, but I hope there's something guaranteeing future involvement in the club
if its na interest bearing loan..the crucial thing is it snot a loan to safc..

they would still have needed investment because the para money wne tot pay off a club dent -it didnt disspaear-it paid off a club dent that was costing millions in interest..
so they still woudnt have it now..and would still need investment..
they put £10m of their own in..

Says to me they weren't wealthy enough to buy us so therefore shouldn't have. There were other interested parties. Instead they've financed it using the clubs own money.

Unless you have inside information then no one knows. If it was an investment why didn't they just put the money into the club rather than Maddox. We should all wait until an official statement is released.
they are doing what ellis short did..he invested in safc by buying drumaville..sfor the logcial reason that drumaville owned safc..

a club is a legal entity..sepoerate to madrox and to SD etc..

this has cleared fuck all up

Pretty much! I've been hoping an announcement from the club might clarify a bit but I've read what Methven said to the Echo and he's basically saying the details of the arrangement will remain confidential, so basically we aren't going to find much more out even if the club does release something!

That being said, 3 (possibly 4) super wealthy Americans have now put money in which will hopefully enable us to improve our recruitment and academy, the two bits I've been moaning about. The fact they've got money to spend there suggests our owners might be able to direct any money they have to spend into the first team in January (we don't need much but a couple of good signings could be a big boost).

The Americans aren't a bank so I seriously doubt their end ambition is to get this money back with a bit of interest, so we can be pretty certain that the plan is for this investment to put some of the ground work in ready for them later becoming shareholders and potentially owners. I imagine we need to get out of this league before that'll happen, but hopefully they'll give it this season and next if required.

Either way I can only see this as really good news. We've got some major players invested in the club, lads who will have great contacts, no doubt good ideas about future plans for the club, and I think now we just have to concentrate on getting behind the lads and the owners, because if they can get this right it might be massive for all of us. I've got my concerns about some in the club, but presumably with this investment there will be greater scrutiny so hopefully if anyone isn't doing a good job they'll be quickly replaced. Onwards and upwards

So assuming an 8 figure investment equates to £10m that'll be £30m of SAFC money sitting in Madrox not counting the alleged £11m summer loan.

Whereas I'm as delighted as the next man at 2 American billionaires and another with big millions 'investing in SAFC' I'd like clarity as to when the parachute payment money is being paid back and what is happening with any other SAFC funds.

WTF

The professionalisation of our club from top to bottom should be first on the agenda if FPP have any say. And clamping down on this regular childish epic Bantz on social media should feature somewhere on a very long to do list

Nothing to say that Madrox won't just loan that to SAFC in turn either. Everything is just speculation at it stands at the moment.

I await analysis from @Grumpy Old Man in a few days time as he will understand things a lot better than I am ever likely to.
