Top 100 Debut Albums of All Time

Illmatic being below Straight Outta Compton and Licensed to Ill is... interesting. I'll let them off for not having Lauryn Hill in if they're classing a Fugees album as her debut record.

No sign of Interpol on a list with Franz Ferdinand and The Killers is awful though.

Groundbreaking at the time, but barring two or three songs I doubt it gets played much nowadays.

Haway everyone, let's hear your nominations for debut albums you would have included that didn't make their list.

I'll start us off with these ten:

Counting Crows - August And Everything After
Matchbox 20 - Yourself Or Someone Like You
Terrorvision - Formaldehyde
The Wonder Stuff - Eight-Legged Groove Machine
Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
The Wildhearts - Earth vs The Wildhearts
Blind Melon - Blind Melon
Alice In Chains - Facelift
Skunk Anansie - Paranoid And Sunburnt
Skin (UK band, not the singer of Skunk Anansie) - Skin
Terrorvision

Terrorvision

Quality album that debut was mate, no joke. Their second album was awesome as well.

As soon as they released Tequila I lost interest though and never bothered even listening to the rest of that third album.
"Albums got docked points if the artist went on to far greater achievements". Seems an odd way to compile a list. Good to see the Congos in there though.

It certainly is odd when License To Ill is #1 and the list contains Pink Floyd's debut.

And if that was part of the weighting, where are all the albums from bands that never released a second album?
