Whats best one for a mutt? Just found an uninvited guest crawling up her belly. Been treated with spot on about three week ago but have the horrible feeling i may have fetched them in from work

We use a pill (Johnson's Flea tablets) that kills the fleas and eggs, right chew on getting the mutt to swallow it though.

You need to treat your carpets and soft furnishings/dog bed too and keep checking her.

I used a spot on treatment for the cat a few weeks ago, saw no evidence of fleas on the cat or in the house but he had a decent sized bald patch near his front shoulder which looked angry and freaked me out. He could have just been over grooming the area but I just wanted to be sure, his fur is thankfully growing back now but I was really worried for a while (he's an indoor cat, but I read that fleas can get in via open windows, clothes and what have you, the pesky bastards).
Hope you get it sorted soon fella, a flea infestation can be very grim (I had one with my old cats about 15 years ago and I got bitten to fuck ).

Make sure you buy some indorex spray off the internet (expensive from the vet) and give your house a good spray. Get at least 2 cans.

Absolutely brilliant stuff. Mind it kills all creepy crawlies.

Oh man, we had decorators a few years ago, and their dust sheets brought fleas in.
Had to practically fumigate the house, as the cats went everywhere - so once the fleas found the cats, the fleas were spread across the whole house.

Had to wash almost everything - and sprayed this stuff on every carpet.

Aside from that, having proper spot-on treatments will kill the buggers. Actually the dog will be a walking flea killer, as any that jump on it and have a bite will be killed.
Make sure you're not just using Frontline though, that stuff is becoming less useful as fleas have developed immunity to it. Advantage is a better product.

go the the vet and ask for advocate ( I think it's called)....it's a few quid, but it lasts 3-6 months

Have had 4 Labs and the second one I had constantly picked up fleas.
The other 3 have never had one.
Mind you he would constantly pick up dead rabbits and carry them home :)

That's what advantage / frontline is good for. A spot on treatment every couple of months, and you'll never end up with fleas.
