F1 2019

Really good piece on Sky F1 website from Ted Kravitz showing the extensive preparations for the typhoon at Suzuka. They've had to dismantle the pit wall, pack up the garages, paddock, tv suites, lay sandbags and much more. It'll be a monumental effort to get everything plugged in and switched on for 10am Sunday for qualifying.

How's Suzuka preparing for Typhoon Hagibis?

It's so good to have Ted back. Chandhok has been the let down he always promised to be.

Ted needs to be able to do his notebook every week, Chandhok just hasn’t got the personality Ted has. I watched it and it was really interesting

Good watch that. Some work involved putting stuff away, let alone getting it all up and running again.

I almost hope the typhoon hits, so all the work was worth it.

The decision not to penalise Vettel is absolutely appalling. No consistency at all, a false start is a false start. Should have had the same penalty as Kimi the other week

Really strange race today. Vettel false starts, clear as day, no penalty. Leclerc drives into the side of verstappen and ends his race, at first not even an investigation, then they investigate it, then they will investigate it after the race. Then mercedes throw away a 1-2 finish for some reason.

Im all for good hard racing and this new hardened stance from the stewards in general but it feels like ferrari were being treated with leniency today. Still cant believe they received no penalties after that race.

Mercedes win by 117 points over Ferrari with 5 races to spare in the constructors standings meanwhile in the BTCC just 36 points separate BMW in 1st from Honda in 2nd with just 3 to go in their Constructors Standing and all of which must be fought today.

Lewis Hamilton will probably win the Drivers title by over 62 points from teammate Valtteri Bottas with probably 4 races to go. Meanwhile in the BTCC just 18 separate the top 3 in the drivers standings with Colin Turkington in 1st on 298, Dan Cammish in 2nd on 281 and Andrew Jordan in 3rd with 280. Worth remembering that Lewis is out to win his 6th title. Colin looking for only his 4th. Dan his first. And Jordan his 2nd.

F1 is a joke.

Feel free to create a BTCC thread and fuck off from this one if F1 is that much of a joke to you.

All Mercedes have had to do this season is keep their cars on the track. The Ferrari drivers and strategists have done the donkey work for them. You could argue that Ferrari have thrown the drivers and constructors titles away for the past two seasons.

Another good drive from Albon. He has that race seat sewn up for 2020 now.

Charles Leclerc has been given 2 time penalties totalling 15 seconds. 5 seconds for being 'predominantly at fault' for the Verstappen crash, and 10 seconds for staying out with a damaged car and causing damage to Lewis's car in the process. Drops him to 7th place and Ferrari fine €2,500 for the incident, that'll make them think twice.

I love the BTCC mate, but this is an F1 thread. Why bother trying to win points. Just making yourself look like a helmet. Again.

The sensor mustn't have picked it up but he penalised himself anyway.

It probably cost him a decent shot at the race win

The Verstappen incident is harsh since both were on cold tyres and the adrenalin is coursing, plus we've seen people get away with worse and not get a penalty.

The penalty for driving around with a damaged car is well deserved and he could reasonably have expected to be black flagged IMHO

BTCC also manipulate results by adding weight to winners for the next races..
