£200m Sunderland Blueprint

Yep, not needed
I agree with this. Would be used by a small percentage of people on a match day. What about the other 347 days of the year. What’s the point in having a footbridge to sheepfolds?
£303,000 for Jackie Whites f***ing hell hows that going to help. Could do with adding a couple of zeros to that figure.
Could be for something even as minor as a rewiring job or something. Wouldn’t make sense to chuck money at it as there’s not much potential there for it to be much else than it is.

I would have one for decorative purposes mind...but there are bigger priorities.

Sunderland seems to have momentum at the moment mind.

If we had better footfall we could level it and install a food court. Your rght though likely stay as is for a lomg while yet sadly.

Aye that’s about all it would be and money would be better spent on something more worthwhile.

I agree with the second point and it’s good to see.

Something like that would be better where crowtree was. Even a container village there could work. Few decent bars round there it should be used for entertainment purposes.

There’s a good hall type market in Belfast which does very well. It’s an older arcade style building which is more aesthetically pleasing than Jacky Whites.
The offering is very good in terms of multi cultural cuisines, craft stalks and live music. There’s nothing like this as a weekly feature in the north east as far as I am aware.

There is Grainger Market which is becoming exactly what you say. Sunderland doesn’t have a market which is accessible like that and as pleasing on the eye. They’d have to build something that could House small business ventures that set up small market stalls. It really could work in the town. It can’t however be in bridges as it needs to be around already established bars and around the area of the firestation/empire would be ideal for it. There’s going to be the hotel and vaux round there so would have plenty people around.

If I win the Euromillions tomorrow, im buying parklane market & the bingo place. Bulldozing the lot & rebuild it into something like that.

The grainger market is class.

Mind I reckon you could gut jacky whites and have some kind of indoor version of the stack in there.

Not needed. Have you tried to cross Wearmouth bridge on a match day. Miricale no ones been killed. If and when sheepfolds and Vaux were developed a footbridge would be vital

Would cost nothing to close the northbound lanes of the bridge for 30 minutes before and after games. Problem solved. In fact I'm amazed this doesn't happen anyway on safety grounds. You could even leave a lane open for emergency services and buses.

You not think it would be better on the green at crowtree? Perfect that I think. I’d be well chuffed with that. Who owns that the council?

One lane open only on the Northbound is already the norm.
The inside lane is barriered off for the crowd walking back into he Town.
Mind you there are still nuggets who walk on the traffic side of the barriers.

They basically want to hike the council tax up so that they can pay for grandiose schemes with your money. Then they'll expect you to be grateful for all the wonderful things they have done, and vote them in next time.

Inside is closed but aren't there three northbound lanes?

Tbh I was one of those nuggets walking traffic side while pissed at the MK Dons game.
