PES 2020

Had a few games on master league last night. Started with AC Milan, love the cut scenes although the actions tend to go on for a bit to what they are actually saying . Love it when you sign a new player and he is shown around the training ground etc, class.

How the fuck do you beat a player? There is no step over option or anything like that to actually get past the player, basically you just get tackled, very frustrating! I played in the Asian cup for Milan against Benfica and their left back Grimaldo scored a hat trick of stunning free kicks, is this a bug or is it just me giving silly free kicks away around the box to an expert free kick taker?

Some of the player animations are sublime like, some of the touches and play are also amazing, players look great too as do the stadiums etc and presentation. 8/10 for me so far.

Enjoying it so far, just played master league and it plays great. Roberto carlos taking Luton to the prem, not gonna happen in my first season as team is shite and have no money but we're sitting 8th after 10 games which is the aim i was set.
Like the new cut scenes in master league and way you have to keep fans on side with matching what you say to what you do.
Transfers are far better, last PES leicester basically sold their whole squad and never replaced anyone and collapsed on this PES transfers are sensible and teams buy what they need and sell what they don't, unless it's a huge transfer bid.
It is tough to get new players to come to Luton but i feel like that reflects real life pretty well.

Really enjoying master league, finished 2nd in the championship with luton, only by a point was very lucky last day of the season. Went up with fulham and forest. Norwich, sheff utd and villa went down from prem. Got to January 15th in the table and palace offered me job so i took it to have a bit of money to spend in window. Two 0-0 draws so far at palace but doing a lot of selling and buying to get them up the table from 14th.
Whole thing is a lot better than last years. Board expectations are realistic, was given avoid relegation with Luton. Transfers are realistic and the big ones are actually for big money, mane went to madrid for 160m and de bruyne went to madrid for 155m, the two big summer deals.
Gameplay is great, some games my strikers have a bad day and can't score and some days i smash teams. Can tell the difference in quality when playing a top team, liverpool smashed my luton side going 3 up in 20 mins which was fair when i had rotations from cup game.
I recommend it

Have you used an option file? If so,which one?

Is anyone playing this? Is it worth getting to do a Master League? I thought the demo played well if a bit easy.

The actual game compared to the demo is a lot worse when it comes to dribbling, they've basically rendered it ineffectual. I would say the game's a lot more like 2019 than it is the demo. Proper EA tactics they've deployed. The A.I opposition is slightly less cheaty and scripted than it was although the higher you go up in difficulty the more apparent it becomes. The refs are still shit. Fouls for perfectly fine tackles, non-fouls for rubgy tackling.

There is an issue with players not reacting to the ball but Konami say they're fixing this with the next patch this month.

ML's pretty much exactly the same as it has been for the last ten year apart from a different menu display, pointless manager cut scenes and the transfers being a tad more realistic. They said they'd remastered ML - they haven't.

Personally I'd hold off for a few weeks for the inevitable price drop.

That's very disappointing to hear!

To each their own for gameplay, the player reactions with loose balls is definitely a thing but theu said they are on it to fix it. I enjoy the play style, it is different to 2019 IMO, feels great when you get a good passing game going. Some goals are class too but you do have the realistic slices and miss kicks etc. With difficult shots.
I used pesuniverse for option file, they are good and have constant updates and do a classic teams option file too etc.

Would you lot recommend this over fifa 20 ? Thinking of buying this today and just trading fifa 20 in for it?
How much are the update files and are they easy to do etc ?
Cheers.

PES has its flaws but on the pitch if you want a game that plays like a proper football match then it is leagues ahead of FIFA. That's undisputed even by FIFA fans. The option file is about a tenner and takes about half hour to install, really easy.

Personally I think it's a step backwards from 2019, so many things that last year's game did better. Saying that it's still better than FIFA for gameplay and ML. For everything else stick to FIFA. Netcode and matchmaking on PES is so piss poor you won't want to bother with online.

For the option file (kits) go to PES World, the quality and accuracy is superior to PES Universe, and is free.

Picked the game installing the Free files now. Canny size to add to the game but be worth it eh! How would I get the lads into the championship or even create a league one ?

I’ve just picked this up on the ps store sale. 32 quid but got £35 credit from cd keys for 29.99. Haven’t played pes since the ps2 days so really a beginner again.
Got an option file off a mate but no SAFC on it. Anyone know how or where to get kits etc?
