SAFC Takeover Latest

Hes stating that the rumours of it collapsing are absolute rubbish so now hes back tweeting about it, to me, means it's an absolute certainty to go through

'Don't think it's a certainty, mate.

Saying it hasn't collapsed is not the same as saying it's going to happen.

'Sounds like they're still going through the process, and until it's done then things can change.

My personal opinion is I don't see why a few wealthy Americans would give up their time to go to an SAFC match if they weren't serious about it, and I can't think of anything they can reasonably find that would change their mind. It's not like the club is remotely likely to be involved in money laundering or other such malpractice.

If it doesn't go through my guess would be that it will have something to do with football regulations over here rather than changing their mind on wanting to own the football club.

The fact it's taking time doesn't suggest to me that they've become less interested. The time taken to buy a club from point of interest can vary wildly, and has done, and sometimes it has taken quite some time.

If it does fall through then maybe it's for the best, because while being taken over by a few wealthy men sounds good in theory it won't necessarily be what we expect in practice.

If it falls through because of SD it'll because the potential buyers, having been through DD decide to offer some paltry amount.

But it sounds like its past all that now and the hold up is that after going through the whole club top to bottom , the new owners are trying to get people in to replace those they are about to say goodbye to.

Including Stewart Donald
That would be my take on it too.

But if Donald doesn't want to leave, that will put an end to the takeover surely.
It’ll be a struggle with these blokes in charge

Even if we scrape promotion there’s no plan

How are you so certain that there isn't a plan?

Can we let this be a collective reminder that the majority on here with a reputation of being "ITK" have a persona to upkeep and even when they know the square root of fuck all, will go along with the narrative to scalp some credit if they happen to be right.

Hopefully the deal is finalised and announced asap, but I've just resigned myself to the fact that it will happen when it happens... If it happens, ofcourse.

There’s only one interested party involved , I’ll politely suggest that they have the upper hand in the negotiations.

These boys didn’t get as rich as they apparently are by being mugs , let’s hope they buy at a price which suits them , whilst at the same time let’s both of them walk away with a few bob profit.

The worst they could do is sell at cost.

Canny game of poker being played here.

I reckon it would make sense to have SD remain in place, at least in the short term. He's proven himself to be competent in running a football club and he knows the club and is respected by the fans.

Just an aside, football fans play merry hell when players show no loyalty to the club that developed them, but no one seems to give a shite that the fella who stabilised the club and it seems has found us some wealthy owners, is shipped out as part of that deal.

I'd like to see SD stay involved with the club. And, if it falls through then at least there's the consolation that we're left with someone in charge who is going to help ensure we have a financially viable football club.

He’s always said he’d do what was best for the club, you can only hope he’s as good as his word and that if the takeover is dependent on him leaving he’d leave. He’d put himself in a very difficult position if it became known it collapsed because of him insisting he stayed

I always enjoy a conspiracy theory and it’s very interesting to me that there has been suggestions of certain “information” being planted, in the hope that it will get published and somehow sway opinion or speed the process in some way.
When it’s all done and dusted , maybe we will hear the background to all that ???

I know that some of the things happening don’t sound right and people are getting worried/negative, but in reality the vast majority of members here have absolutely no knowledge of multi million £ deals or how they work.
We have no choice but to wait and see.
