Once we are taken over SD will be an employee. He will do as instructed by the owners

Yep. I get that they might (or might not, we don't know) decide that they aren't football experts and so will listen to him for a while, but equally they might have formed their own opinion, or got someone else in mind who they have been listening to who might be telling them that he isn't the right man. And like I say I don't think Donalds loyalty to Ross is undying either, he's watched what we've watched, hell if the video was real then he's already voiced displeasure, he'll make a change once he thinks Ross can't deliver and for all we know he's reached that point now like 80% of the fan base. None of us can, with any certainty, say what they will or won't do, just need to wait and see

New owners, top class manager this week..?

We can dream
I'm just worried if he gets sacked we get someone even worse! My faith in SD has gone down so so much over the last few months and I think Ross should have gone after the play off final. But can we attract a good manager? They have massive ego's and won't want to drop down to L1!

To be fair neither you nor I have any idea how they will operate. They'll have been in a box with people representing the club, so that means nowt, they're hardly going to say "nah, we're not going in with him". As for Donalds show, well firstly he did sack managers at Eastleigh so I'm sure he's capable of it especially after watching that performance from the away end, and even more so when he realises this is a major chance for him to make a lot of money, and secondly I think he'll do as he's told when he's no longer majority shareholder. These new blokes aren't going to buy a club and then listen to Stewart Donald for too long. Plenty of new owners have come in and made big changes straight away so you can't say they won't and I can't say they will, just wait and see

Doesn't sound like theyw ill from what we've heard though, I mean back page ofThe Times said Donald will be in charge
If push comes to shove, I see your point but I think SD's experience and opinions will be relied upon. Michael Dell won't be rocking up to alter direct debits for pot plant hire.

Thats the point

eventually they'd move away as he isn't qualified

but for a while he will run it, which would mean another year in league one, as we aint getting promoted under donald

I can picture it now, takeover announcement and a statement from SD...

"Its been a difficult period. The uncertainty around the takeover has most definitely been unsettling to everyone at the club, including the players and management team. However now that it is concluded Jack and the players can get back to our primary focus achieving promotion this season. We would once again like to convey our thanks to Jack for managing the situation extremely well during this period and he continues to have our full support going forward"

Nailed on.

They might consult him but their decision will be given
Of course, but many decisions (including key ones) will be made by SD and the new set up on the ground (whatever that may be).

But my point is that they won't be making all the decisions in isolation because they aren't qualified about footy or Sunderland (yet).

Fair enough mate, but like I say we'll see, I don't think any of the press has been massively accurate on this thus far, when they come in we'll know if there's immediate change and we'll hear their thoughts but until then I think everyone is guessing. Just hope it's done tomorrow, even if Ross stays (hope he doesn't), the speculation can't be helping him or the team

I thought they'd sought advice from an ex-England manager? Was that made up?
