SAFC Takeover Latest

McNulty was splitting the centre-halves and allowing McGeady to come inside and get shots off. He was also asking why he was taken off so definitely wasn't injured.
Why on earth he brought Wyke on to play with his back to goal, 30 yards out, with 2 giants marking him and thus, playing into their hands was beyond me and those I sit with.

He brought Wyke on because his team were hoofing the ball up front, instead of telling them to play as they did in the first 20 minutes, he decided to make it easier for them by putting Wyke on for them to aim at.

Ross isnt very good

I don't believe it either. Ross doesn't strike me as a the sort of fella who would accept not being in control of the team.

There have been a few managers at other clubs who have had no control over signings, but I highly doubt it with Ross.

On the whole, Ross has had a lot of success with his signings, he's done really well generally, but the one that we really needed to come off and it didn't was Grigg. Being able to rediscover anything like his previous form at this level would have got us up last season. I don't blame Ross for that. The evidence was there that Grigg was prolific at this level, but for whatever reason he's not the same player these days. The club could have banked the Maja money, but they reinvested it, and it just didn't work.

There wasn't any Maja money, he was traded to pay off our Khazri debt. We used extra money from Sartori and Donald to sign Grigg.

Aye, more often than not you just wouldn't back them to take a chance to win the match that fell to either of them.

It's not just the missing chances, but their general play doesn't make it difficult for the oppositions centre halves and as a result the other team keep their shape and in control of what they're doing. They're not making the runs in behind and they don't hold it up and play someone in, as a result we don't get on top of teams for sustained periods, which is why usually we don't put teams away. The fact we're never usually out of a match either is down to the quality we have in other areas of the pitch.

Neither are sharp enough even at this level.

It was McNulty's run the other night that made the difference. You just couldn't imagine Wyke or Grigg getting themselves in that position.
Grigg has got himself into those positions a few times but his confidence is at rock bottom so he keeps missing the chances

Why is this not just a thread re the takeover, which btw has still not happened and the news has dried up.

GOM no word from Reiver mate?

It was enjoyable and entertaining watching his news come in but it wasn’t all entirely accurate so I’m not sure there’s much point in hanging your hat on the info he was getting anyway.

Whilst I believe Ross should have been sacked after Charlton, I’m reasonably confident that he will mastermind the most expensively assembled and highest wage bill of a team the 3rd division has ever had to a dull and narrow victory of winless Bolton’s under 12’s. When this exciting takeover goes through I fear we will be to far away from the top two by January to do anything about promotion if Ross is not gone in the next week or so.
It’s not Bolton’s kids anymore, they signed loads of players on deadline day including about 4 former safc players

McNulty isn’t 100% fit hence why he was taken off

I was about 20 yards from the dugout and visibly saw him asking why he was taken off. He seemed to think he was fine.

Any updates on the takeover? Still looking good to happen or are we concerned?

Mods removed my post. Anyway, this is going to come off at the end of the month/start of october. That was what I was told the moment that my clued up friend first conveyed his insights to me, 2 weeks back.

Aye?

Not in the slightest.

He stated the other day himself that the work SD has done has been remarkable.

And feeling is mutual.
Yeah it’s a lovely self congratulatory club where Ross earns hugely more than he has ever earned and Donald is likely to make a lot of money from the takeover . Meanwhile Sunderland have won 26 games out of 57 at third division level .

Here we go, Ross thread part 256465318 within the takeover thread :confused::lol::lol:

When the fuck will the monorail be discussed again given the video of the model has been leaked now? Is that one of the AOL trees I see just before the bend? It's happening!!

I want a proper suspended Monorail like the one below. Not a poxy one that just runs along a raised track.

A win percentage of 45.6. I believe that is considered good whenever win percentages are discussed on Sky etc.
