Why did school teachers have odd names you never hear off?

I have never heard of any of the names of the teachers from my old primary and secondary there was Miss Droot who was my primary teacher and my secondary one was a Mr Primjob, our Math teacher was Miss Pearbus. Everyone related to these must have been took away and annihilated.
