Possibly but Roy could yet be a good number 6, he has been opening on his debut in his position he has never batted against two of the best bowlers in the world, not really enough evidence and a bit too early to to write him off yet imo.

You appear to be keen on Roy, unfortunatley his technique has been pointed out as lacking means he has a lot of work to do to get back in the test team.

By your own admission he has faced two of the best opening bowlers in the world, so maybe we cut burns and denly the same slack?

Exactly mate, both have done well no stick from me mate, it's been extremely diffcult for opening batsman on both sides in this series!

It was ridiculous and said from months before the series to open with Roy and extremely unfair on him.

Now by putting him in a really unfair and unnatural position he is getting slaughtered in some quarters you could see it coming.
 
Clear we can't carry 2 wicketkeeper/batsman. Butler has shown recently that he has been prepared to tighten up the defensive side of his game and is beginning to look a test match batsman. Unfortunately, Bairstow appears unprepared to do likewise rather like Vince and Ballance before him. Dilemma for Bairstow is he'll be able to go back to CC and score a pile of runs without having to adapt his technique. Maybe opening for Yorkshire would better test his technique.
