I'd drop him for the New Zealand tour and see how Buttler or Foakes does with the gloves. That should be it for Bairstow you’d think.

Doubt they will drop Bairstow (personally think they should, it should be one of Bairstow and Buttler, not both). Root will get his mate selected.
Pope has to come in surelyIf it is Buttler needs to keep and bring another batsman in.
Foakes form is rancid? Not just give buttler gloves at 7 and give Pope or another specialist batsman a go?Foakes for Bairstow next series please, hes done nowt with bat or gloves for far too long

Pope
Unfortunately for Roy they fucked him over, otherwise he might have been in at 6 himself.

Or Roy at 6
Pope is averaging 60 for Surrey he’s better now than roy ever has been or will be.Or Roy at 6
Or Roy at 6
God no, proven he doesn't have the technique to be a test batsman

Roy for Bairstow is like for like. both go too hard at the ball and are vulnerable to being bowled too much. I would go for Pope.
Was put totally in the wrong position never opened in his life in red ball cricket.
Would be much better with less movement and shine of the ball at 6
That's a very generalised statement that you can't really know tbf.
Yeah it's a tight call I would go for Roy at 6
He doesn't even have the technique for that.
Number six needs to be good enough to face the second new ball.
