I agreed with Chris Sutton’s analysis the other day on BT. Unfortunately we, as a club, are utterly consumed in misery. At this point I just don’t see it changing.

I hope I’m wrong. I hope the takeover goes through, we end up minted and competing with the likes of Everton, Wolves, Leicester. Do I see it happening? I can say with certainty, no. Any slight bit of optimist is always, always followed by misery, false hope and let downs. That’s a fact of being a Sunderland fan, and you know what...I’ve made peace with it.

What I said was that it had gone too far to retreat from.

That still applies and, in addition, no one wants to retreat from it.

All parties are just like the supporters ...
... can't wait to tie up the loose ends and get the show on the road.

I must have misread stuff. Sure you said the takeover was done, or compete etc, regardless though, I hope you're right.
