Anyone built a wooden garage?

Going to knock down my double concrete garage (with asbestos roof) and thinking of replacing it with a wooden one, probably just a single but will need to have a taller opening than standard to get the camper in.
Anyone done this and got any tips?

I know it’s not exactly the answer you’re looking for, but I’d genuinely recommend this company;

I have a garden office from them and when I priced the timber to build it myself, the supplied kit wasn’t much more.

Quality craftsmanship and well designed. They have a huge showroom in Cornerstone which most folk drive past as its set back from the road.

Yes, over-engineer the shit out of it.

Was looking at a prefab one?

That looks like the thing I'm after. Where is Cornerstone?

You priced the timber at two grand???
I built a shed of similar dimensions for a couple of hundred. 2x2s for the frame and a load of tongue and groove.

Plus the felt, double glazed hardwood doors and windows.
I’m including the felt. And I made my doors out of t&g. Didn’t have windows like, I had polycarbonate skylight instead.

I sometime forget that not everyone in the world lives on a shoestring budget.

If you can afford it, it's generally worth it. You're not just paying for materials but their experience putting them together.

While I'd be proud of a shed I'd made myself, there's bound to be a few bodges along the way
