Takeover Rumours

I'm not calling you out as a glory seeker, and must be hard to be rivals to Liverpool for many a year. I'm just saying nobody should tell us not to get excited over this (Please god happen) after the shit we endured over years (Even the last couple in the Prem) We've got a cracking owner in my opinion in Donald who has done fantastic to sort the financial mess, though not going up was a big blow last season. He has always said he can take us so far, but not further into the premier league without investment. The lads mentioned have the clout we could never have expected at this stage (This stage has probably swung it our way which is even funnier) There are a lot of tongue in cheek comments regarding bits on here, but fuck it, if we can't have a laugh when things are looking positive then what's the point.
spot on

He should have been sacked a couple of weeks into his tenure, his squad management in France and his deranged ramblings to the media during the transfer window set two massive fuck off red flags up right away.

Hate the bloke. Dour, uninspiring and negative.

Friend of mine’s Dad does a lot of work for the club and he said the difference in atmosphere from Allardyce leaving to Moyes coming in was chalk and cheese. He wasn’t anywhere near as well liked as Allardyce was by the staff and players.

TBH i was always sceptical that Dell would have anything to do with any media presentation. I thought the others would, alongside Donald mind. I hope they do, but it feels like that long since it was first rumoured, that i'm not sure if we would recognise their appearance anymore, compared to the original photos of them  I am just trying to keep a lid on things atm as i peaked way too early on this thread, so i'm keeping my blood pressure down until it's announced.

I'm just totally intrigued about what the hold up is (If it's not just paperwork/clearance as that's to be expected) what their plans are? What the kick in the mags gravy bollocks is? etc etc. Strange, but totally mad times at Sunderland again

I told you all the kick in the mags bollocks-its true and was quite recent-I can expand at a later date - needles to say, Ashley hasn’t helped himself and is running SJP into the ground- Rafa was right about the training ground mind- and Rafa, actually nor.

Your living in a dreamworld if you think anyone in the US, other than a select few, gives two hoots about this.

I’m hoping over the longer term this gets us a sizeable amount of followers in the US. I’m sure the new owners will work on the American ‘Soccer’ network to stir up interest. It can’t hurt to have highly influential US owners and a growing interest in footy in the US.

Don't be a prick

I have missed a load of this thread. I will be very happy with that

Thanks for info & your opinion....understand theres info that may require reading between the lines, sometimes obviously it gets read different ways by different people.

The most import part in this info is the suggestion the deal sounds like its definitely done & the rest is how they want to play it.

My opinion is the work done by SD & CM so far since they arrived the potential new owners should feel confident leaving then running day to day....its not like the mess of shorts sons mate or whoever in high positions.

In reality the only failure so far is no promotion last season, no excuse in my eyes that squad should have been good enough for top two, is that SD & CM's fault? think they played a part in letting maja leave when in my eyes taking chance on compo & promotion may have been better? maybe thats a fans view rather than a more sensible business view?

The real mistake was replacing him with grigg, who from what ive seen appears a half finished journey man? Was that ross, hill or SD ive no idea.

For me too altho it was good at the time, i said to mates, were not good enough to play 60 games a season fookn about with daft cups. was it worth the reconnection & bond between club / fans again? hard to decide, all i know is we cant afford to fook on at this level

I think SD & CM will be well aware no promotion last year wasnt acceptable, double that this year & these potential new owners are not buying in to hang around down here. ross will know this too, id love to think he was but im not sure hes experienced enough to handle the pressure / expectation which will without a doubt build as soon as an announcement is made.

Exciting times, but we all need to keep our feet on the ground & understand there will be set backs, like Peterborough.....its how we react & bounce back....its how we fight & stick together.

For me, its not ideal if what we watch isnt attractive, lets remember we are where we are & win games however it looks & get the fook out of here asap

Haway the lads
Best post on here for 1200 pages!

I’m jumping the gun here but say we sack jack ross at some point (hopefully sooner rather than later) and Stewart Donald in his new role appoints another unsuccessful manager so the new owners have no faith in him, what happens to Stewart Donald then??
