Says there's no deal then openly talks about the plans for the club, stadium, investment, etc.

I don't believe a word of that tbh, if the deal hasn't been done the papers couldn't have gone to the EFL ...

... and they have.

It's a stalling tactic imo, if that's a 'wide ranging interview' there must be huge swathes I don't have access to.
Exactly, he can’t do an interview then say nowt, he’s just told a few lose lies and throw away comments to fill down lines and keep the journalist content.

As for the model I fully expect is to continue our not getting our eyes ripped out purely because we are Sunderland, I am assuming that is their objectives

Who says efl are dragging their heels.

Whey it's supposedly been in their hands for a while now, and they're usually the last step before an announcement. And we've had no announcement soooo...

I don't know basically. Did someone not say the EFL are holding it up?

"You can’t just throw millions of pounds at a club like in the old days, but at the same time they’re very keen to keep the model we’ve started to build."

Kin'ell,. What model is that then?
The model where we don’t spunk millions of pounds after millions of pounds unnecessarily & try to improve the income stream into the club.

This is partly why I’m not that excited by this. Regardless of the lessons we’ve learnt the hard way previously, there’ll be an element who will want us to hoy money about like there’s no tomorrow. The mission statement or whatever it is from the company say they look at steady sustainable growth, not overinflated prices & wages on players with fancy names.

But that element will be shouting loudest when we don’t win our next game.

A Nike kit again next year then? Just seen an excerpt of the Tony Davison article where he says he's was meeting them over next year's kit. Would probably make sense with American owners and Netflix exposure.
