Addiction

Suppose if you class doing something that costs a lot of money and can bring a lot of anger and misery into your life yet you cant stop as an addiction, most of us take a hit every saturday afternoon.

Have a mild addiction to weed. I don't have to smoke/vape it every day but usually I find it difficult not to get high every other day. I do force myself to have 10 day tolerance breaks every few months though. The first three days are really difficult, I need to have no weed at all in the house or I'll relapse. Once those first three or four days are out of the way though I find it a lot easier. I think it's more of a psychological addiction than physical.

Actually I'm probably physically addicted to nicotine. I'm vaping my ecig every few minutes at least. If I go out without it I find I'm gasping for it after an hour or so.

I'm assuming, judging by your comments on weed that you could kick your addiction permanently? Is it because you just enjoy it, you continue to go back to it after the tolerance break?

Aye I just really enjoy it mate. I find it calms my over active mind. It makes things taste a lot better, music sound better etc. I often get high with my lass (no) and find it makes sex way better too. I couldn't imagine giving it up. I did have a full 13 months free of it when I lived in South Korea a couple of years ago. I craved it like mad and even used to have vivid dreams about getting high.

My mam had a non cancerous brain tumour removed about 3 years ago. We hoped that would give her the motivation to pack in smoking but when we suggested it she just said "No, I like smoking". So that went well.

My dad had his tongue and a chunk of his jaw removed due to tongue cancer (a classic smokers disease) and he actually quit smoking after the surgery as he couldn't keep a cigarette alight and draw back the smoke anymore - how on earth it got to that point I have no idea and sadly he died a few months later as the cancer was still lingering anyway.

That's awful mate. I know smoking will massively shorten my mams life and its shit that I can't do anything about it. I am a hypocrite though because I drink too much and have a crap diet which I need to change or I will get health issues too.
