Takeover Rumours

Whilst it will be fantastic to be taken over, isn’t there a major flaw?

Donald remaining and running football operations? (That may be a little simplistic but seems to be the general gist). He has thus far proven to be completely inept in this most important department. Never mind all the other jackanorys that have been spun via RR.

It doesn’t makes sense for these extremely successful business people to entrust the running of the football club to him.
It’s worth a conversation at least. SD has zero experience of ‘big’ club. It’s a logical shout to say what he’s done here is make us smaller. Is his mindset enough in the future to guide us all the way.
My opinion FWIW is that he’s a fast learner and specifically that he sees the need for three things at SAFC to make us successful.
1. A very good DOF.
2. An incredible scouting network.
3. The use of data analytics to drive recruitment.
If he gets these three things right, our journey back will be solid, fast and real. If he tries to do it all between him, JRs management team and TC, he will undoubtedly stall once L1 promotion is achieved. I think we can do that without much changing btw.
I’m sure SD can see this though. He’s a smart guy and smart guys learn fast.

Good morning thrillseekers, wonder what amazing tales of wonderment and woe we get today.... personally I think its Roger whos delaying the entire deal etc.... amount of traffic and advert revenue he must be getting he'll be able to force another taleover of the takeover.... be nice to everyone its nearly christmas :)

He can probably buy MSD out once this takeover goes through due to this thread.

All of the above sound sensible, particularly the three suggestions.
He has failed to implement all 3 thus far. The recruitment has been absolutely woeful with absolutely no thought as to how to grow a football club.

You're really saying that when he's on the verge of getting at least 3 billionaires to invest in our club?

Yeah... Worked a deal to write off the debts, saving the club essentially. Restructed from top to bottom. Now this.

Some people want instant success and if it doesn't happen they're first to criticise, even though they couldn't even tie their own shoelaces

Is there any evidence to suggest otherwise?

If this investment comes off then it is absolutely fantastic. However, the infrastructure of this football club is what will sell it, not him.

So he has no contact with them whatsoever? He just sits there and lets it happen?

Give over man, the bloke negotiated making the club debt free with Short and is on the verge of something we could only dream of a season or 2 ago.

I can't trawl through every page. I suppose like most I just keep dipping in to the latest last page.

Has anyone mentioned the possible return of Greedminds, he must know the billionaires!!!!

Of course he will have had contact, he is the major shareholder and as such will be recompensed for that via negotiation.

But he has gone to the table with a fantastic offer in what the football club has to offer. Sunderland AFC represent a superb opportunity as a result of our colossal failings on the pitch over a period of years. These new people are investment bankers and as such for a limited and clever investment they should hopefully (as it would be good for us) gain a significant return.

What I don’t quite understand, is why they would invest in something and have somebody with zero footballing acumen call the shots. Obviously, this may be different in reality but that appears, based on the evidence thus far which is what will happen.
