Takeover Rumours

I've heard it's Gerrard and Defoe as player coach. Gerrards agent has been staying at Durham since Thursday. Gerrard has been on holiday but spent most of it on Skype. Promotion to the Prem bonus being a stumbling block, not money but project timeline and also his monorail clause.

stop it..no stoo it!

Stuck in the middle of Alaska so hopefully the next time i can get internet, this bloody thing is over so i have enough time to find out how my family are going back home.
If there's on thing RTG is good at is loading even with a proper shite connection to the Internet. When I was an engineer for a shipping company it was the only website that would load whilst in the atlantic/Pacific back end arse of nowhere...the world could be ending and the only news source would be the smb forum:cool:

He has got to go marra,or the excitement of the takeover will evaporate quickly.I was just thinking today could i hand on heart say we are going to beat acrington stanley answer no .

why not we just lost 3-0 so our players will be more up for it, we always beat Accrington away and we will do again.....your post is sensationalist

Alright. I think he came into a club in absolute shambles, in a league he's never managed in, as a young manager still learning his trade. He had to deal with the enormous wage discrepancies, and build a squad in a matter of weeks. The few PL leftovers aside it's a league one squad and I don't think last season was the free hit everyone else seemed to.

From April he failed, should have got top two and then should have won the play offs. I'm happy enough to give him a chance to improve on that, become more bold in his approach and push us on with some stability.

He's gotten the best out of McGeady. He got Cattermole playing well from a point of fans at preseason telling him to fuck off. One thing you can't say is the players aren't trying for him. When we go out and play our own game we look good and I like the neat passing style, plus his ability to mix it up when needed. He understands the game well and I think he is a lot more intelligent than the likes of Kenny Jacket or some of the other managers at this level I sometimes see posters saying we should go and get.

He has failings. Of course. I've always admitted as much. He should be more confident and play more attacking football, he should have sorted the defence out (I think Willis has helped). He needs to be more ruthless when it comes to the crunch and win the big games. More than that I think he needs to demonstrate he has a vision for the future in terms of adding young players who can develop with us as we progress....O'nien, Dobson, Willis, etc fit the bill.

I think he gets a rough time because some of our supporters can't handle how far we've fallen and think turning it around should be a foregone conclusion. I don't think it's as simple as that. If the takeover goes through as we all expect I'd be telling him "you've got until end of November to have us comfortably top and playing well".

I'm not saying he's definitely the answer but I think he's being written off too soon.

My sentiments exactly.

I hate the management merry go round. I really want him to succeed but he has bottled it at key moments. We need to attack, attack, attack.....

Spot on, we need stability , but after the X2 Wembley games I wanted him out.
My biggest issue with Jack is he doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes.
The check a trade was a disgrace, I expected the play off to be a lesson learnt and go for it, how wrong I was.
Purchasing Grant was another tell tale sign what he wanted in midfield, whilst we still had Catts.

whilst i agree with the attack attack attack sentiments our attack is utter shite, having a goalscorer like dare i say it Maja or Grabban is often the difference between a good or an average season. Grigg is disinterested and frankly a poor player and Wyke just a workhorse who if we are lucky will score 8 this season

I've just read the Chronicles article about the people taking over. They are desperate to play down Michael Dells involvement. It's killing them and a bit pathetic really.
